The first ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ trailer is here

It's very Chuck E Cheese meets Saw, and we're invested.

It’s time to grab your best party hat and biggest appetite because Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is inviting you to have a seat at the table for a rousing evening of fun and fantasy in the upcoming horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s. The thing is, the eager-to-welcome-you host is leaving out one thing; there’s also a frightening fate that awaits those who dare enter the pizzeria.

Fans have been waiting for the trailer for quite some time, and those who have played the video game know that the story is anything but ordinary as a security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Suddenly, the once semi-normal animatronics have become all but possessed, and a struggle for life or death ensues.

The teaser trailer looks like a Saw film meets a terrible Chuck E. Cheese playdate, and we’re both excited and a little unsettled at the idea. Hiding in ball pits, glowing red eyes, and a restaurant that makes your spine tingle just by looking at it — this is what nightmares are made of in the best way.

Some fans got a glimpse at the teaser when it leaked online just weeks ago, but for those who waited to see the final cut, it certainly was worth it. For those unfamiliar with the game but who have caught wind of the film via message boards and social media hype, the official synopsis for the film reads as follows:

A troubled security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

Starring Matthew Lillard, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Kat Conner Sterling — Five Nights at Freddy’s has an all-star cast, and the film will surely be a hit for gamers and horror aficionados alike. You can have your first slice at the pizzeria when the film hits theaters on Oct. 27.
