‘The Flash’ parody brings together DC’s most unlikely crossover characters

Hypothetically eat your heart out, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home.'

The upcoming DC blockbuster The Flash is set to bring some iconic characters back to the big screen. While it’s cool to see Michael Keaton reprise his role as Batman, it seems like this DC Studios adaptation of the Flashpoint storyline is feeling a bit tame so far. Fortunately, one brave soul was able to tap into the multiverse to showcase what a true DC superhero crossover should really look like.

Twitter user @zerowontmiss shared a video of the ultimate DC crossover that fans should have received. In it, we have Henry Cavill reprising his Superman role one last time before the James Gunn reboot, Ryan Reynold‘s Green Lantern is given a second chance, and Grant Gustin finally replacing Ezra Miller as the Flash. To top it all off, we have Christian Bale making a dramatic entrance as Bruce Wayne. This is the DC crossover that would make Spider-Man: No Way Home eat its heart out.

It’s such a shame that DC wouldn’t entertain this type of crossover. Even if it was part of DC Elseworlds, it would have been cool to see DC Studios show even more appreciation for the pre-Snyderverse old guard, or the ones who made the Arrowverse possible. After all, fans have argued that there is still room for Cavill’s Superman outside the main DCU storyline due to the endless amount of Batman movies that exist. Regardless, people really liked the video and wished it was real.

While DC’s The Flash won’t have some modern DC legends returning to the screen, fans will be graced by Keaton’s performance as Batman and Sasha Calle‘s Kara Zor-El, the latter of whom recently received Cavill’s seal of approval. Gunn has promised an improved DCU in his reboot, announcing a brand new Superman and Batman movie, as well as a new Green Lantern film.

The Flash is scheduled to hit theaters on June 16, 2023.
