A number of PlayStation 3 owners playing The Walking Dead: Episode 4 – Around Every Corner are reporting a major bug that is causing the game’s save files to become corrupted or completely disappear.

Telltale has issued a statement to Joystiq saying that they are aware of the problem, and are currently working on a fix.

“We have received a small number of reports surrounding this issue since the launch of Episode Four: Around Every Corner and have been working with users on our forums to clearly identify a solution which will be resolved as quickly as possible… We are working with our partners at Sony to push the patch to users as quickly as possible, and will update our customers as soon as we have confirmed when the patch has been released.”

The developer added that you can avoid experiencing the problem by not using the “third save slot in the game menu”. If you do happen to get the save error, Telltale is recommending that you return to the PS3 home screen and wait for the upcoming patch to be released. The company is also asking that anyone who has been affected by the bug contact them on their support page.

We will report back as soon as more information about The Walking Dead: Episode 4‘s save error is made available.
