‘They don’t deserve cake’: Woman delivering wedding cake claims she was almost attacked by the bride and guests over her casual clothes

Wedding guests accused her of being disrespectful.

Weddings are typically an occasion for a formal dress code; guests are expected to wear smart clothing, and so are the caterers and other staff members. However, it might be a little much to expect the person delivering the wedding cake to show up in formal clothing too. However, a baker on TikTok says that wedding guests almost attacked her over how she was dressed, despite her claims that she was only there to deliver the cake.

Manila, a baker who posts on TikTok, claimed that she was “nearly attacked” at a wedding because she showed up in casual clothes, something which was deemed a violation of the strict dress code. She said she was only there to deliver the cake and then “get the hell out.”

However, Manila claimed that the way she was dressed “did not sit well with them because apparently it was disrespectful that I showed up in my casual clothes to deliver a cake.” She said she thought that the people at the wedding were joking at first, and so she started laughing. Unfortunately, they weren’t joking. “They are just there, like, looking at me, not smiling, like, dead-faced.”

The bride was angry too

When Ang realized that the guests were not joking she claimed she tried to explain that she was just there to deliver the cake; however, they still apparently insisted that she was being disrespectful in the way she was dressed, claiming that others would see her. Ang pointed out that there was nobody around but said they were still upset.

Ang also spoke to the bride, whom she thought would be a little more understanding, but she was allegedly just as angry as the rest. “She shows up, and she’s like, ‘You know what, I heard that you were being really rude to my guests and I don’t like that.’” Ang said she asked the bride what she had done to be called “rude,” and then she was told she had given the guests “attitude.”

Like the others, the bride also took issue with what Ang was wearing, allegedly telling her, “This is a wedding, in case you’ve never been to a wedding before.” And told her she didn’t need to dress up, as she was just delivering the cake and then she would be gone, but she said the bride told her, “I expect a dress.”

“Please tell me you took the cake,” wrote one commenter who thought that Ang was too nice. “They don’t deserve cake,” they added. Others claimed it may have been an excuse to get out of paying for the cake, which some brides and grooms have tried before.
