‘They want the baby to be born and get shot’: Gen Z congressman leaves jaws on the floor in attack on ‘pro-life’ colleagues

Maxwell Frost was elected to Congress in 2023 at the age of just 25. He serves as the representative for Florida’s 10th congressional district and is the first Gen Z congressman.

Most freshman representatives try their best to keep a low profile and curry favor with the more influential members in the hopes of being appointed to a powerful position, but Frost is apparently more than ready to call out hypocrisy whenever and wherever he sees it.

In fiery scenes from the House Rules Committee yesterday, Frost called out his Republican colleagues’ “pro-life” credentials: “They say they’re pro-life because they want the baby to be born and get shot.” Purestrain MAGA devotee Virginia Foxx could barely believe her ears, thumping her gavel, telling Frost she would not allow him to “impugn our integrity”, and trying her best to shut him up.

Frost’s response? To shrug and say, simply “that’s what I’ve seen”. I mean, to be fair, that’s what we’ve all seen from MAGA, so it’s difficult to argue.

Hypocrisy!

Foxx doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on here. She’s consistently and passionately voted against all forms of gun control, including supporting a prohibition against lawsuits on gun manufacturers, co-sponsoring a bill that expands concealed carrying of firearms across state lines, voted to remove background checks on firearms sales, and supports no regulation on the private transfer of firearms.

If you wanted a recipe for a spate of school shootings, the above are the key ingredients. All of which makes Frost’s argument absolutely right – Foxx wants babies to be born with or without the consent of the mother, but she’s perfectly happy to facilitate school shooters that’ll blow them away once they’re older.

But hey, maybe she’s right that “we are pro-life people from conception to natural death”. Or maybe not, as she’s been a crucial supporter of the Thin Blue Line Act, which pushes for the death penalty for even the attempted murder of a police officer.

So, I guess Foxx is pro-life, but not when it comes to the vast proliferation of deadly weapons used in mass shootings, and against the government taking lives, but not when police officers are threatened. All of which sounds like there’s more than enough room to impugn her identity until the cows come home.

Here’s hoping Frost is in Congress for decades to come. We need more politicians like him.
