Now that Spike TV’s tenth annual Video Game Awards have come to a close, and Tenacious D has blown our minds, it’s time to look back at what the event brought us. Of course, in order to do so, we must start with the biggest announcement, and that award should go to Naughty Dog. Why? Well, the incredibly talented developer finally announced the targeted launch date for its much-anticipated PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us. As a result, we can now tell you that the game and its digital fungal outbreak can be yours on May 7, 2013. Thankfully, the calendar isn’t incredibly far away from reaching that square.

I must admit to the fact that I’m happy with the aforementioned release date, because it’ll give me a potentially great game to kick off the summer season with. Surely, I’m not alone, since the month of May used to be a rather dry retail month for this industry. It looks like this year is going to be different though.

What do you think? Are you excited for The Last Of Us? Do you think you’ll be able to wait until May?
