Woman says neighbor threatened her toddler, then he pulled a gun after he wandered onto her driveway

A TikTok creator’s account of a dispute with her neighbor over her wandering toddler has escalated into threats to have the child attacked by dogs and the eventual confiscation of a firearm.

The incident, shared by creator Taylor Sole (@taybsole), began when her 1-year-old briefly crossed onto a neighbor’s property. What might have been a minor issue quickly turned into something much more serious, with the neighbor allegedly threatening the child, displaying a handgun and eventually having the weapon confiscated by local sheriff’s deputies.

The conflict reportedly began on a Monday, just three days after Sole and her family had moved into their new home. Her toddler wandered a few feet onto the neighbor’s driveway, but the neighbor’s reaction quickly caught Sole off guard.

The threats started early on

According to Sole’s account, the woman, who had initially seemed pleasant when the families briefly met over the weekend, began shouting threats from her home. Sole said the neighbor threatened to let her dogs attack the baby or intentionally hit him with her vehicle if he ever crossed onto her property again.

Shaken by the reaction, Sole’s family contacted the local sheriff’s department through the non-emergency line. They wanted to report the threats and make sure there was a record of what had happened.

The situation became even more serious the following day when the neighbor allegedly pulled out a handgun and waved it around while invoking her “Second Amendment right” against trespassing.

After emergency services were called, deputies responded to investigate possible aggravated menacing. During the response, the neighbor reportedly displayed volatile behavior and expressed suicidal thoughts. Deputies then advised Sole and her family to seek a civil protection order.

Getting the order, however, did not immediately put an end to the situation.

Before the order could be formally processed and served, the family reportedly endured another disturbing evening. Sole said the neighbor sat inside her vehicle, repeatedly honked the horn and screamed toward the family’s windows.

The situation finally reached a turning point Wednesday morning when multiple sheriff’s deputies arrived at the property to serve the protection order. During the process, deputies confiscated the neighbor’s handgun.

Sole and her family are now preparing for an upcoming court hearing, where they plan to ask for the temporary protection order to be extended into a long-term, five-year order.

Some suggested that she should file a lawsuit

The story has since gone viral on TikTok, with commenters debating everything from property lines to gun laws and how quickly disputes between neighbors can spiral out of control.

One commenter wrote, “Sue the realtor for not disclosing that little detail … most likely the previous owners left for that reason.”

Another asked, “Is this Florida? lol it feels like Florida behavior.”

Sole has not said which state she lives in.

According to Effective Agents, sellers who fail to disclose documented and serious neighborhood problems or ongoing harassment could potentially face financial and civil consequences for fraudulent misrepresentation.

For Sole and her family, what started with a toddler wandering a few feet onto a neighbor’s driveway has turned into a much bigger legal dispute — and a reminder that having a good relationship with your neighbors is something you probably shouldn’t take for granted.
