‘Amazon paid $40 million for this??’: The Melania Trump movie is finally upon us and it looks as boring as you’d expect

Will you be going to see Melania when it releases?

As if the Trump dynasty couldn’t come across any more narcissistic, we’re now getting a Melania Trump movie that nobody asked for. Most were unaware that such a film was even in production but if you’re a Trump family superfan then maybe this will be right up your alley. But then again maybe not, it looks incredibly boring.

The trailer for MELANIA released yesterday and was shared to X by the first lady herself. The short teaser promises to show us “history in the making,” as we see glimpses of Melania doing whatever it is she does. In all fairness a film about the first lady is a rather hard sell, especially when the first lady is Melania Trump, the trailer doesn’t reveal a whole lot about her which kind of makes it hard to be invested in the upcoming film.

The IMDB page for the film states MELANIA will offer viewers “a rare glimpse into the life of Melania Trump, exploring her role as First Lady and her relationship with the former president.” Brett Ratner of all people directed which is funny because, like Melania’s husband, Brett also has some serious sexual assault allegations against him.

While it was quite funny to see her tell Trump she didn’t watch his inauguration over the phone, it’s doubtful this latest piece of Trump propaganda will give us an objective look into the life of one of the most powerful women on the planet. But who knows? Maybe this film will provide a more in depth look at how their bizarre relationship works. Whatever the case, it’s hard to imagine cinemas being swarmed with avid moviegoers eager to watch this film.

Do people really want to see MELANIA?

So you’re probably wondering how the trailer has been received by the people of America and I can safely say “not well.” The trailer boasts a higher dislike to like ratio and the comments are almost all mocking Melania, comparing her to Tommy Wiseau of The Room infamy.

Meanwhile, on X, people responded to the first lady’s post with mockery. “Will it explain how an “Einstein visa” was earned by marrying a billionaire?” One person asked. Others joked that they were looking forward to the Jeffrey Epstein cameo. Others called out Amazon for producing the movie with one individual suggesting the movie “be filed under Amazon’s “lobbying expenses.”” The company supposedly spent $40 million on the documentary.

As usual it seem the Trumps have failed to read the room. It seems almost nobody is interested in seeing this film, even the diehard MAGAs probably won’t bother, it just looks too dry and uninteresting, they’d probably rather re-watch Sound of Freedom for the hundredth time.

For the five people who may be interested, MELANIA hits theaters January 30.
