Donald Trump Jr. visits Atlanta law school one day after midterm elections, and gets met with boos: ‘The country has rebuked you!’

He was on campus to attend an event.

Donald Trump Jr. drew a hostile reception when he appeared at Emory University’s law school in Atlanta. The visit came the day after Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate in the midterm elections.

Footage released Wednesday by TMZ DC’s Charlie Cotton showed protesters confronting Trump Jr. as he left a campus event. One person yelled, “The country has rebuked you guys! The country has rebuked you!”

The protester then added, “We have the House and the Senate! We have the House and the Senate!” before repeating, “The country has rebuked you!” Nearby voices could also be heard chanting, “Shame on you!”

Trump Jr. joins partner for building dedication and student discussion

TMZ reported that Trump Jr. was on campus for an event honoring his business partner, Omeed Malik. Malik’s alma mater named a building after him, and the two men attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony together.

The university did not notify students ahead of time that Trump Jr. would be present. He arrived with a Secret Service detail.

People close to Malik told TMZ that Trump Jr. spent about four hours at the school. The visit included a fireside chat with roughly 100 students.

Four people in the audience interrupted the fireside chat by shouting about fascism. Organizers then escorted the four out of the event.

Video from Cotton later captured Trump Jr. and Malik exiting the auditorium while protesters continued to boo and yell. In the clip, Malik appeared to raise his middle finger toward the protesters at one point.

The reaction followed the previous night’s election results, when Democrats secured majorities in both chambers of Congress. Trump Jr. had already commented on the Republican losses earlier that day.

Vice President JD Vance wrote that the party lost because of the war with Iran, noting that the president had said the same thing the night before. Trump Jr. responded to Vance’s post on X by writing, “Every word of this is (three 100 emojis).”

While JD Vance and Trump Jr. acknowledged the role of the Iran war in the GOP’s midterm disaster, neither directly blamed the president. President Trump had been under immense pressure over the war and the current state of the economy ahead of the elections. Some MAGA supporters have accused Trump of sabotaging the midterms.
