President Donald Trump will mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a divided schedule. He plans to attend a memorial ceremony at the Pentagon in the morning before traveling to New York to watch the Yankees play the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium that evening.

Vice President JD Vance will represent the administration at the Ground Zero commemoration ceremony in Lower Manhattan. Second Lady Usha Vance will join him at the memorial site. The White House announced these arrangements on Tuesday, confirming the split responsibilities for the solemn anniversary.

According to The Hill, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that “President Trump will commemorate the 24th anniversary of 9/11 on Thursday with a visit to the Pentagon memorial in the morning, followed by an appearance at the New York Yankees game at Yankees Stadium in the Bronx on Thursday evening.” The game against the Tigers is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.

This will be Trump’s first appearance at a Major League Baseball game during his second term as president. The last sitting president to attend an MLB game was Trump himself during his first presidency when he went to Game 5 of the 2019 World Series in Washington, D.C.
