JD Vance called out over Epstein files hypocrisy at rally, suggests heckler is illegal immigrant

Has he changed his tune since becoming vice president?

JD Vance made his opinions about the Jeffrey Epstein case quite clear before he became Donald Trump’s vice president. In 2021 he posted, “Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don’t talk about it.”

Later that year, he called on journalists to make as much noise as possible about Epstein and his clients, saying, “If you’re a journalist and you’re not asking questions about this case you should be ashamed of yourself. What purpose do you even serve?”

Since becoming vice president he’s considerably softened that approach, saying the White House is committed to full transparency on Epstein and claiming that it’s “not holding anything back” and “not shielding anything”, while accusing Democratic opponents of politicizing the issue.

“They ran on releasing the Epstein files but you’re an enemy if you bring it up”

Now, at a rally in North Carolina, an attendee called him out to his face. The unknown man interrupted his speech to shout “Release the Epstein files” and “God bless our children.” As the man was removed from the audience, Vance casually dismissed him as a possible illegal immigrant, joking that while he’d previously said there’d been no illegal border crossings, “one isn’t bad, right?”

Those who voted Trump in the hopes that he’d live up to his promise of full transparency on Epstein have been bitterly disappointed, particularly when Trump himself labeled the issue a “hoax.” Arguably the most famous person to break with Trump over Epstein was his former devoted fan Marjorie Taylor-Greene, who once said she’d take a bullet for him.

Like many, Greene believed the Trump campaign promises over Epstein, only to be horrified when the administration actively fought against their release, which she described as a “full reversal” and a “punch in the gut”, adding: “You protected your pedophile rapists friends instead of women who were raped when they were just teenage girls and you STILL REFUSE to release the Epstein files.”

Further down the MAGA tree, other passionate former MAGA fans lost their faith. Trisha Hope, a longtime “Front Row Joe” rally attendee, said that his “lack of concern for the Epstein victims and his callous response… ends my relationship with him,” describing his “hoax” comments as a “dagger in my heart.”

As for Vance? Replies were quick to call him out for his apparent hypocrisy: “They ran on releasing the Epstein files but you’re an enemy if you bring it up, “Republicans went from pushing to release the Epstein files to chanting “USA” at someone getting kicked out for chanting to release the rest of the files. Shame,” and, “The crowd is ludicrous. Chanting USA for what at that moment? For supporting pedophiles?”
