JFK grandson’s buddies reportedly trying to set him up with currently single AOC: ‘She can do way better than me!’

Jack Schlossberg, President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, has said he doesn’t believe he has a romantic chance with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. As reported by The New York Post, the 33-year-old Kennedy family scion’s friends have been actively playing Cupid between the two, apparently to salvage his faltering political ambitions.

Schlossberg is still reeling from a failed congressional campaign to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th Congressional District. His campaign was widely criticized for unexplained disappearances by him at key events and accusations of immaturity, all of which ended with him getting just 10% of the vote.

But, with Ocasio-Cortez potentially preparing for a run at the presidency in 2028, his friends seem to believe he has what it takes to woo her. The Post quotes a source identified as one of Schlossberg’s friends, who said: “Those two would actually get along great together. They believe government is a force of good. They’d at least be good friends.”

“Way out of his league”

Ocasio-Cortez had long been in a relationship with Riley Roberts, with the two having been engaged to be married for years, but never actually tying the knot. After being spotted in public without her engagement ring, Ocasio-Cortez eventually confirmed that she and Roberts were no longer an item. So, could Schlossberg and AOC be the hottest political power couple since Bill and Hillary Clinton?

Schlossberg was quick to pour cold water on the idea. In comments to The Post, he underlined that he thought highly of her, but that a relationship is not on the cards: “I respect her a lot – she can do way better than me!” As The Post opined that Ocasio-Cortez was “way out of his league”, Schlossberg once again dismissed the rumors by saying, “What a silly story”. Ocasio-Cortez has not commented.

However, if Ocasio-Cortez is seriously considering a 2028 presidential run (and she is currently a front-runner in polls), then she may need to consider bolstering her love life. Only two presidents have ever won an election while single: James Buchanan in 1856 and Grover Cleveland in 1884 (who would become the only president to get married while in office).

That said, multiple presidential hopefuls from across the political spectrum have launched campaigns in recent times despite not having a significant other, like Lindsey Graham in 2016, Cory Booker in 2020, and Tim Scott in 2024. But, at least according to Schlossberg, it seems there’s little chance of the debut First Gentleman being a Kennedy heir.
