In case you thought American politics had already reached peak absurdity, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s boyfriend, Brian Glenn, just took things to the next level on Real America’s Voice.
Glenn, who’s best known for being a conservative cheerleader with a press badge and Greene’s not-so-secret MAGA man, made headlines when he declared: “People are angry. You know, forget about the big beautiful bill, people want big beautiful handcuffs on some of these people.”
Yes, “big beautiful handcuffs.” Because nothing says “land of the free” like fantasizing about rounding up political opponents and clapping them in irons.
Glenn added, “Because for far too long we saw– we saw Thomas Crooks [take] a shot at Trump in the head. He’s dead. We don’t know any more about that. Ryan Routh tried to shoot Trump on a golf course. We still haven’t seen a trial on that. And then James Comey comes out and says, yeah, ’86 47,’ and what do we do? He takes it down. He gets the number one book, and we move along.”
Okay, yeah, assassination attempts might warrant handcuffs. Still, as it stands, Routh deserves due process just like everyone else, and Comey has faced heat for the since-deleted ’86 47′ post, so it’s not exactly like we’ve ‘moved along.’ Meanwhile, Comey’s post is freedom of speech, at least at this point, so Glenn seems to suggest anyone who speaks out against the president should be arrested — no trial, no due process, no protection.
