‘Mayhem’: Shirtless Shia LaBeouf ‘terrorizing’ New Orleans during Mardi Gras

Word is he cannot be stopped by conventional methods.

Lock your doors and batten down the hatches, New Orleanians, because Shia LaBeouf is in town for Mardi Gras and is causing “mayhem”. As per a story in The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf is on a rampage and cannot be stopped by conventional means, leaving a trail of carnage in his wake across the city’s bars.

Eyewitnesses say LaBeouf arrived at 24/7 bar Ms Mae’s topless, without cash, and “inebriated”. Bouncer Robert Skuse described him as “somewhat belligerent”, saying that in classic egotistical Hollywood celebrity fashion, he “did the ‘Do you know who I am?!’ bit”.

The topless LaBeouf then marched inside and demanded to “be a celebrity bartender”, presumably wanting to serve drinks to his adoring fans within the venue. They politely said no and asked him to please, for the love of God, at least put his shirt back on.

LaBeouf then began ordering drinks and repeatedly asking to use his credit card to pay for them, despite the increasingly frustrated bar staff pointing to the multiple “Cash Only” signs dotted around the premises. Bartender Kyle Catarouch, doubtless getting a little tired of this, told him “Why don’t you go back and dig holes?” – a nod to his 2003 movie Holes.

“He is terrorizing the city!”

The soused actor eventually left alone, though he has been popping up at other bars over the week. Over in relaxed jazz club Dos Jefes, an anonymous patron indicated LaBeouf was single-handedly killing the vibe: “He was louder than everyone and was giving acting instructions to a girl at the bar.”

Word is getting around the bars that they need to watch out for any sign of LaBeouf on the premises, with one shellshocked bartender telling THR, “He is terrorizing the city!”

It’s worth noting that LaBeouf is supposed to be sober. In 2020, he faced legal action after musician FKA Twigs accused him of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress (the lawsuit was eventually settled out of court on undisclosed terms).

LaBeouf blamed his actions on alcoholism and went into rehab, apologizing to those he hurt and saying he was “a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being.” Well, whatever’s going on in New Orleans right now sounds a lot like he’s back to his old ways…
