Rob Schneider isn’t exactly well-liked these days, maybe he never was, but his recent alt-right grift has turned off the remaining few people who still supported him, and now he’s trying to pin the blame on “woke Hollywood.”
In an interview clip shared to X, the actor, known for Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and riding on the coattails of Adam Sandler, claimed, “if an actor like me says anything or even questions or dares question the tribe of Democrats that’s it, you’re out, you’re out of Hollywood.”
That’s right, Schneider is trying to suggest that his failure to be recognized as a movie star in recent years is due to him being canceled over his outspoken views and not at all because he’s a poor actor. The Grown Ups star even fired a few shots at Mark Ruffalo, claiming that the Avengers actor was able to freely criticize Donald Trump and still have a career, which he clearly believes somehow proves his point. All it really proves is that people actually want to see Ruffalo in movies.
When questioned by the interviewer whether he knew his words would have such an impact Schneider admitted he was surprised by the response, suggesting his tweet about Hilary Clinton’s 2016 election loss showed the Democrats as unable to take a joke.
Rob Schneider believes the woke left canceled him
However, many disagree with the idea that Schneider’s career was destroyed by his pro-Trump rhetoric. Plenty of outspoken Republican actors still get work, for example, Chris Pratt, Dennis Quaid, and even Sylvester Stallone who gave a speech last year praising Donald Trump.
Comparing himself to Mark Ruffalo doesn’t really fly either. Unlike Schneider, Ruffalo has proven himself to be a fine actor who can flourish in almost any role. Simply put, he’s good at what he does. Rob Schneider, on the other hand, has never been good in a single project he’s been involved in.
“Mark Ruffalo has won two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.” A person on X pointed out, adding, “Rob Schneider has won one Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor.” Another joked, “I love that he thinks it’s because of his politics.”
In fact, Schneider owes most of his fame to Adam Sandler, who often gives roles to his longtime buddy. Speaking of Sandler, he himself is also a registered Republican and yet his career hasn’t been negatively affected in the same way. Just like his idol Donald Trump, Rob Schneider seems incapable of looking inward to address his own failures. It’s always got to be somebody else’s fault.
