It hasn’t gone unnoticed that Marjorie Taylor Greene is going rogue. Despite the chaos of the Trump administration, the cratering of the economy, and the dramatic drop in living standards for regular folk, the vast majority of Republicans are simply grinning and lying that, actually, everything is just peachy.
Apparently Greene is built differently. She’s been increasingly calling out how Trump’s policies are actively harming voters, said the Epstein files must be released, and wasn’t afraid to highlight Israel’s genocide in Gaza. To underline, she is still Marjorie Taylor Greene, but I’d much rather this flavor of MTG than another obedient Trumpy robot.
Last night, Greene was interviewed by Tucker Carlson, during which she brought up fellow MAGA rogue’s gallery member Laura Loomer. Both are conspiracy-crazed women with a history of courting Trump’s affections, but it seems their similarities don’t mean they’re friends:

Carlson asked, “ How does Laura Loomer get to be a Pentagon advisor?” to which Green replied:
“I don’t know….This is a woman that can’t even legally buy a gun because she had such serious mental problems…Who listens to a person like that? No one should!”
It is indeed true that Laura Loomer is legally forbidden from owning a firearm as federal law prohibits gun possession by anyone who’s ever been involuntarily committed to a mental institution.
Loomer has confirmed that her father had her involuntarily committed twice for mental health reasons, which triggered a denial through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) when she attempted to purchase a gun in 2021. Arguably, Greene bringing this up is a supreme mean girl sniping but, like Ken Watanabe in Godzilla, we can only watch the carnage and mutter “let them fight…”
Greene opens up on rising costs
Elsewhere in the interview, Green gave her take on the ongoing government shutdown and MAGA in government. As usual, she didn’t mince her words, saying:

Here’s hoping this new MTG sticks around. In a sea of docile Republicans happy to regurgitate whatever lie Trump feeds them, at least she’s not afraid to stick her head over the parapet and speak what’s on her mind.
