‘They called me daddy’: Trump confuses Iceland with Greenland and claims they see him as a father figure

Donald Trump Trump claimed the people of Iceland adore him.

It appears Donald Trump may have finally gone off the deep end as his latest rambling speech saw him confuse Greenland and Iceland (to be fair, Greenland does have a lot of ice). He also claimed that the people of the country adored him and lovingly referred to him as “daddy,” which is honestly kind of gross and a pretty obvious lie.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump declared that he was helping Europe and NATO despite almost everything he’s done in the past few weeks having the exact opposite effect he’s claiming.

He then went on to claim that “until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me.” First of all, he’s clearly referring to Greenland here, unless he secretly has intentions to make Iceland the 52nd state of America. Second of all, Europe most certainly do not love Donald Trump, but he goes further. “They called me daddy, right, last time. A very smart man said “he’s our daddy.””

This most recent bizarre speech can be added to the many weird and unhinged speeches Trump has given over the years. It makes us question whether he is truly mentally fit enough to hold the position of president of the U.S. But unfortunately it seems this is simply the new normal for America now.

Does Donald Trump even know what he’s saying?

There’s no denying his speech at the World Economic Forum sounded like the ramblings of a confused old man. Nobody in Greenland (or Iceland for that matter) is calling him “daddy.” In fact, the population of Greenland have made it pretty clear that they actually want nothing to do with him. Trump is either losing his mind or he’s blatantly lying, or maybe it’s a combination of both.

“For anyone else this would be a career-ending speech.” One person wrote in response to the clip. “No one has enough “cojones” to stop his psychosis.” added another person, suggesting someone should put a stop to the president before he harms himself or (more likely) others in his befuddled state.

The sentiment was much the same amongst many online with people finally having enough of this obviously incompetent leader, “Congress needs to put a stop to this. Its embarrassing” a third individual wrote.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that anything will happen because the Trump administration is filled with too many yes men and women who are willing to play along with the president’s delusions. Trump has shown that he’s incapable of making rational decisions, like a good leader should, time and time again and yet his supporters are still blind to it.
