Mary Trump attacked President Donald Trump this week with strong words. She called him a “sick human being” and “the thirstiest, weakest, and most depraved of men.” She wrote these comments in her newsletter called “The Good In Us.”
According to HuffPost, the clinical psychologist criticized the president after he made awful comments about actor-director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele’s recent deaths. Their son was arrested for murder in connection with the tragedy. But Trump made the situation about himself. He posted a terrible message on Truth Social and repeated those comments to reporters.
Mary Trump thinks her uncle’s actions show his true character. She called the president “depraved” and said his behavior confirms what many people already think. She wrote that he proved to everyone that he is a “depraved, deviant, damaged little man.”
His niece thinks he can’t handle other people’s success
“Once again, you have gone out of your way to prove, to anyone who doesn’t already know, that you are a depraved, deviant, damaged little man who cannot bear the thought that there are people in this world who are talented, valued, and loved; three things you are not,” Mary said.
She explained why she believes the president commented on the tragedy in such a self-centered way. According to Mary Trump, he cannot stand seeing other people succeed or be appreciated. She said he “cannot bear the thought that there are people in this world who are talented, valued, and loved.” Then she added those are “three things you are not.”
Mary Trump said the president cannot handle anyone else getting attention. She wrote he can’t “stomach the thought that anybody else, for any reason, would take the spotlight.” This need for attention is why he inserted himself into the Reiner family’s tragic situation. The president has faced similar criticism before, including recent controversies about his public appearances.
She suggested what she called the “most fitting punishment” for his comments. Mary Trump said he should be locked in “a mirrorless room without access to the internet or sycophants who continue to believe or pretend to believe that anything you do or say matters.”
This would be especially difficult for someone who needs mirrors, the internet, and constant praise from others. Trump has also been dealing with his legal battle against media outlets over coverage of his statements. Mary Trump ended her piece by saying President Trump is “beyond redemption.” She is clearly not holding back her criticism.
