‘And she drives a Tesla’: Racist Karen blocks woman from driving and tries to open her car door before asking what country she’s from

Another day another racist Karen outed on TikTok. You’d think they’d get tired of constantly being mocked online but some people just can’t help but make fools of themselves on the internet.

The TikTok video starts with the camera pointed at a woman standing outside a car window, it’s nearly impossible to hear what she’s saying but the driver and passenger inside the car are yelling at her to “go home,” and threaten to call the police. They blow the horn as she tries to open the door, all the while she wears a malicious smile on her face.

It quickly becomes apparent that the woman has parked her car in front of the car of the couple recording, preventing them from exiting what appears to be a car park. According to the caption, the woman “tried to open my car door and asked me what country I was from.” Clearly this woman has got a bee in her bonnet and, like many in Trump’s America, thinks it’s ok to bully people who aren’t as white as her.

The person who posted the clip explains that they are “an American Citizen born and raised here.” But that shouldn’t really matter, whether they’re an immigrant or not, it’s not this Karen’s business.

Eventually, another man from a car behind the couple recording approaches the woman and she runs back to her Tesla almost immediately, (why do Karens always drive Teslas?)

TikTok does some investigating

As is usually the case when someone publicly expresses their hatred and bigotry in front of a camera, people were quick to do a little digging and find out who this woman was. It didn’t take long to name and shame the Karen in the video as her license plate is visible for a few frames.

Other commenters expressed their shock and disappointment at the state of things in America right now, “Watching what’s happening in America, from New Zealand, is just mind boggling. It’s burning itself to the ground.”

In a second part, the woman gives a little more context to the situation, explaining that they were exiting a car park when the Karen in front stopped her car, causing a queue of traffic. When the woman honked her horn to get her to move she exited her vehicle and tried opening the door. 

The Karen apparently told her to go back to her country as well as making other racist remarks but the woman did the best she could to de-escalate as she feared she and her husband would be painted as the aggressors should they respond to the taunts.

It’s unclear if the Karen in the video will face any repercussions for her actions although her identity being found by people on TikTok is already pretty bad news for her.
