Boston woman finds out her scary ex’s court case involves a minor. She flees but her mom gives him her location: ‘I Don’t think I slept much’

Prompted her to flee their shared apartment.

A TikTok creator from Boston with nearly 447,000 followers has shared details about her experience attempting to leave what she described as a troubled relationship. According to her account in Episode 3 of her “Scary Ex series,” the creator, who goes by @chronicallygirl (Scarlet), said she discovered concerning allegations involving her ex-partner during a court proceeding.

She has uploaded a series of videos about her ex. In this episode, she claimed she fled her shared apartment and sought refuge at a friend’s property after attending the court hearing. Scarlet stated that this was her second attempt to end the relationship, following an earlier breakup attempt she characterized as traumatic.

According to her account, when she first tried to break up with him, her ex allegedly threatened to harm himself at a cabin in the woods and said he would light cinnamon apple candles so that she would associate the season of fall with his death. She said that despite her mother’s dismissal of his threat as merely a sign of emotional distress, it prevented her from leaving at that time.

The court hearing reveals allegations involving a minor

The second breakup attempt came after she claimed to have discovered multiple deceptions. She said her ex had allegedly lied about his age, had a son and ex-wife, was involved in a court case, and had been unfaithful. She said that these revelations prompted her to search for additional information about his background.

Scarlet said she became suspicious about her ex’s best friend after noticing he appeared to be her age. She said she asked her friend his age directly, but claimed he responded evasively. When the best friend began dating a woman, Scarlet said she invited them to dinner hoping to learn more information. At that dinner, the girlfriend allegedly revealed that the ex-partner had been the best friend’s coach during high school.

She said this discovery prompted her to attend a court hearing involving her ex and his ex-wife, seeking answers about the nature of the legal case. She described the courtroom as initially an open session with other people present waiting for their cases to be heard. According to her account, a lawyer approached the judge and requested that the proceeding be closed, stating: “This needs to be a closed court because we’re talking about a minor here and the case is too graphic for the public to hear it.”

Scarlet said that after the closed proceeding lasted approximately 15 to 20 minutes, her ex informed her that the judge “didn’t vote in his favor.” Following this, she claimed to have experienced significant distress and began reaching out to her support system, including her mother, girlfriends, and therapist. Like others who have found themselves discovering partner’s hidden family secrets, Scarlet felt compelled to take immediate action. She then packed a bag with her dog and drove to her mother’s house to create distance from the situation.

However, according to Scarlet’s account, her plan to communicate with her ex from a distance was disrupted when her mother took matters into her own hands. Scarlet said her mother texted her ex directly, telling him, “You’re a big girl and you need to sort this out with him. This is not my drama.” When Scarlet asked her mother what she had done, her mother allegedly responded by confirming she had texted him.

Scarlet described becoming increasingly distressed when her ex arrived at her mother’s house. She said she repeatedly texted her mother to ask him to leave, but her mother allegedly allowed him inside. According to Scarlet, her mother told her ex, “I’m really sorry, you know, Scarlett’s really difficult to deal with. Why do you think our relationship is the way that it is? Trust me, I get it.” Cases of parents defending problematic adult children over the safety concerns of others share troubling similarities with this situation.

After her ex left the property, Scarlet said she got into her car and called a family friend who owned a vacation home on Cape Cod. Scarlet said she asked if she could drive there immediately because she did not “feel safe” at her mother’s house. The family friend reportedly agreed and provided the location of a spare key.

Scarlet reflected on her decision to drive to an empty vacation property at night, saying she recognized from watching “a lot of scary movies” that this was a risky situation. She called her father, whom she said she was unsure about his current location, asking if he could send someone to stay with her. She described herself as being in a state of panic, locking all doors and windows at the property. Regarding her first night at the location, Scarlet stated: “I don’t think I slept much.”

The following morning, Scarlet said she checked that all doors and windows remained locked and undisturbed. She then took her dog into town to have breakfast, describing the outing as an attempt to appear calm despite her circumstances. However, when she returned to the vacation home, she said she discovered a car parked in the driveway, with the episode concluding on this unresolved note.

The creator’s story resonated deeply with viewers, who flooded the comments section with support, suggestions, and reactions to the troubling account. One viewer, Saya, offered heartfelt encouragement to the creator, acknowledging the difficulties she has endured while admiring her strength through the ordeal.

“Girl you have been through a lot and it may be weird for some stranger to say this but I’m proud of you. I think you’re dealing with all of this with such positive attitude and it’s just so inspiring to see,” she wrote. One viewer suggested transforming Scarlet’s harrowing experience into a larger project.

She wrote: “Girl, what if, hear me out, you write a book or try to pitch a TV show out of your story?? I’m soooo sorry you have been through this. I hope I’m not being too much, but you went through a lot, you could at least try to make money out of it and your mom might be really mad, so that’s a win”
