Chicago woman driving home notices signs telling drivers to lookout for “endangered missing person” then her car license plate pops up

People on TikTok were not impressed with her decision to drive.

Imagine driving on the highway minding your own business only to notice an electronic sign warning drivers to keep an eye out for a car matching your description, complete with a matching license plate too. Well that is exactly what happened to one woman on TikTok who shared the bizarre experience in a viral video.

TikToker, “@jasmine.dillard1” shared a video from the driver’s seat showing the eway sign above the highway. It reads, “Endangered missing person alert,” before providing a description of her vehicle along with the license plate number.

Jasmine seems confused and pretty concerned by the sign but doesn’t provide much more context in the first video as to what’s actually going on. The video quickly went viral, receiving over 14 million views and viewers were left to speculate over what was happening. “Babe did you know you were missing?” asked one person. Other concerned viewers asked for an update.

The real reason Jasmine’s license plate number appeared on the sign

While Jasmine appeared to be fine judging from the short clip alone, there was actually a good reason why other drivers were being warned to keep a look out for her car. In another video she provides a little more context explaining that she had just had a procedure at the hospital that day.

To cut a long story short she wouldn’t be able to drive herself back home after the procedure due to her being under the effects of anesthesia. After the procedure she called her ride to give her a lift home, however, they told her they would be there in an hour. Jasmine tried calling around but couldn’t find anyone else to give her a lift home.

Annoyed by the prospect of having to wait she decides to give the hospital staff the slip by pretending to need the bathroom. They continue to remind her that she cannot drive, but Jasmine has already made up her mind by this point, leaving the waiting room and making a beeline for her car.

Commenters called Jasmine out for being so irresponsible, “This isn’t funny or cute.” One person wrote, warning her, “You could have hurt someone.” Another commenter added, “That’s so dangerous and inconsiderate.” Her decision to drive despite her condition was certainly irresponsible.

Jasmine explained that she made it home without incident and it was actually while she was driving to see her mom the next day that she spotted the sign. She had also ignored several calls from the hospital which certainly didn’t help her case. Viewers claimed that she could still be charged with a DUI or DWI, with the video being all the evidence the authorities would need.
