Crazy mother in law refuses to respect her son and his wife’s boundaries even resorting to peaking through their windows at night

Getting along with the in-laws can be tough and in some cases it’s nigh impossible. One woman on TikTok is debating getting a restraining order filed against her mother in-law after she repeatedly refused to respect her and her husband’s boundaries, showing up to their house unannounced and even peeking through their windows at night.

Taylor McDaniel has been documenting the harassment she’s been receiving from her particularly needy mother in-law. Her husband’s mom seems to think it’s ok to just show up and burst through the door whenever she pleases and what’s worse is the fact that she trash talks Taylor while she’s there.

Understandably, the couple and their kids are more than a little fed up and have tried to set boundaries only for the MIL to show up on their doorstep demanding to be let in.

The video shared by Taylor has been viewed more than 10 million times since it was posted three days ago. The caption explains that her husband had told the MIL that she can’t come round anymore due to “the constant disrespect and boundary breaking.” Evidently her response was to continue breaking those boundaries while playing victim.

Many understood Taylor’s situation, “Omg girl bless ur heart and mental, I know what it’s like dealing with a crazy MIL,” wrote one viewer. “May this type of mother in law never find me,” added another.

Others counted their blessings that they had relatively normal MILs, evidently not all in-laws are bad. However, some were more sympathetic to the older woman as they claimed we needed more context.

The mother in-law definitely crossed some important boundaries

To illustrate her point, Taylor shared more footage as well as a long explanation that explained just why the MIL was no longer allowed round. One of the more disturbing clips shows the mother lurking outside their bedroom window at around 10pm. If that isn’t breaking a boundary then I don’t know what is.

In a longer video explaining the drama, Taylor explains that her husband’s mother would constantly come around unannounced and she had been putting up with it for eight years. One time she arrived at their house begging her son for $6,500 or else she would go to jail. She would also trash talk Taylor to her husband.

Despite trying to curb this needy behavior nothing seems to be working. Taylor explains that the police are unable to prevent her from coming around although they could file a restraining order if they need.

Viewers offered their own advice with many suggesting they move without telling the MIL where they went. One person wrote, “Until HE completely puts his foot down, this will continue,” and they do have a point, the husband may have to be a little harsher if they ever want to stop being hounded by his crazy mother.
