A TikTok creator from Dallas, Kels, has posted a video sharing a story about her wedding day. She says the day unraveled while she was still getting ready.
According to Kels, her fiancé left the venue with her maid of honor. She says they had been together for six years. She doesn’t use their real names, instead calling them “Eric” and “Macy.”
Kels opens with a teaser. “Yeah, just wait until you hear this.” She describes Macy as her childhood best friend. Macy helped pick the engagement ring and planned the bachelorette party, Kels says. Macy also zipped her into the wedding dress.
The Wedding Day Takes a Turn
A maid of honor can end up knowing plenty about a couple before the wedding. Kels says she saw no warning signs. Eric and Macy joked around in front of her, and it never seemed odd.
She says Macy became emotional after zipping up her dress and said she needed to use the bathroom. About an hour later, Eric’s mother walked in crying. Kels says Eric had texted his mother. The message read, “I’m so sorry. I can’t go through with this. Please, can you just let everyone know there’s not gonna be a wedding today?”
Bridesmaids then spoke with the groomsmen, Kels says. The men told them Macy had asked to speak with Eric outside. Both then left in his car. Kels says Macy later texted a bridesmaid, “Please tell her I’m sorry. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. We tried to cut it off, but we had no idea we were gonna fall in love.”
The couple had planned to fly to the Bahamas after the reception, Kels says. The bookings were nonrefundable and in Eric’s name. She guessed the pair would go straight to the airport and asked a bridesmaid to drive her. She says she was right. “They were at the airport.”
Technically, Kels says her fiancé didn’t leave her at the altar. “This is as close to being stood up at the altar as you can possibly get without actually being stood up at the altar,” she says.
Viewers were already waiting for the airport confrontation. “Girl where is part 2?” one person asked. Another was stuck on the alleged betrayal, writing, “Why always best friends.” A third questioned how the relationship had made it that far: “I will never understand going through all of the effort of a 6 year relationship, an engagement, wedding planning, and everything up until the wedding day when you’re cheating on someone.”
Kels stops the story just before the airport confrontation. Wedding plans have fallen apart in spectacular fashion on social media before, but hers leaves one rather important question unanswered about what happened when she found Eric and Macy.
For now, Kels only offers a hint. “It did not go how I expected it to,” she says, leaving the airport confrontation for Part 2.
