A TikTok creator known as Lorelia, who posts under the handle @thespicycubetales, woke up one morning to a direct message from a woman she did not follow. The message started with “Hey girlie.” Lorelia almost did not open it. She said she had a feeling something was wrong and did not want to face it. She opened it anyway, and what she found changed everything.
The woman on the other end of that message told Lorelia that her fiancé was actually her husband. Lorelia, who had a September wedding planned, a dress already altered, and months of planning behind her, was blindsided. She shared the story on TikTok in a raw, unfiltered video that quickly gained attention online.
The detail that hit hardest was the ring. The woman sent screenshots, including an engagement announcement from nine months earlier on her own profile, featuring the same ring that Lorelia’s fiancé had given her.
His mom knew this whole time
He had told Lorelia the ring belonged to his great-great-grandmother. As Lorelia put it in the video, “clearly there’s not two of them,” raising the question of whether both rings were fake or which woman had the real one. On top of that, the proposal date her fiancé had made such a big deal about, the exact day he and Lorelia met, turned out to be the other woman’s wedding anniversary.
When Lorelia called her fiancé after seeing the messages, he told her the woman was a “crazy ex” who would not sign divorce papers, and that the marriage certificate and photos she sent were all AI-generated.
He said his lawyer would clear everything up. Lorelia was not convinced. She called his mother next, hoping for answers. His mother picked up, paused for about 15 seconds after Lorelia asked her directly, and then said, “I wondered when this was going to come up.” She told Lorelia she had not wanted to stress her out before the wedding. His mother had cried with Lorelia over the dress. She knew.
Lorelia called her fiancé back and pushed him for the truth. He then admitted they had been married for four years. He and Lorelia had only been together for two years, which means the entire relationship had been built on top of an existing marriage.
His explanation was that his wife refused to sign the divorce papers and had been doing so for three years. He claimed she was unstable and kept posting about him and calling herself his wife even though they were separated.
The woman who messaged Lorelia, however, sent a marriage certificate and continued sending messages throughout the morning. TikTok has seen no shortage of wedding plans falling apart for shocking reasons, and one bride recently had to cancel her entire dream wedding over a Milwaukee venue that made the whole thing impossible.
Viewers in the comments had strong reactions. One person wrote, “That wife is a girls girl. And she’s doing you a favor,” pointing to the fact that the other woman reached out to warn Lorelia rather than stay quiet.
Another commenter asked, “HE MET YOU ON HIS WEDDING DAY??” referring to the revelation that the anniversary of the day Lorelia met her fiancé was the same day he married someone else. A third comment simply said, “Please say you’re not staying.”
This is not the first time TikTok viewers have urged a woman to leave a relationship after red flags surfaced online. In another viral case, viewers warned an engaged woman to leave after her fiancé’s dangerous secret came out, and the reaction from the public was just as intense.
At the time of posting, Lorelia said she was still in her pajamas at 7 in the morning, trying to figure out what to do. She had a Brazilian wax the day before, a date planned, and hot Pilates on the schedule. None of that happened. Instead, she spent the morning on the phone with her fiancé, his mother, and processing a flood of screenshots from a woman she had never met. She said she did not know who to believe, what to believe, or whether she could even still get married.
What made the story particularly striking to viewers was not just the cheating, but the scale of it. As Lorelia said in the video, this was not basic cheating. This was a man who had proposed to two different women in the same year while being legally married to one of them and planning a wedding with the other.
