A Florida creator says paying about $6,000 to have her fallopian tubes removed was one of the best decisions she has ever made, when framed against the evolving abortion-rights debate in the United States. The creator (Theechainedmaiden @theechainedmaiden) shared the TikTok video in August 2026, where it has drawn roughly 800k views. In the post, she urged viewers who are certain they do not want children to research physicians who perform voluntary sterilization procedures.

In her post, she speculates, “We are about to get a nationwide abortion ban very soon.” The creator then said she underwent surgery in January 2026 to have both fallopian tubes removed. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, removing both fallopian tubes provides permanent contraception and also may reduce the risk of certain ovarian cancers.

She also discussed the financial side of the procedure, saying her surgery totaled about $6,000. “I live in Florida. I have Florida Blue Cross Blue Shield,” she said. “The total cost of my surgery was about $6,000.”

She acknowledged that many people may not be able to afford that expense and said her hospital required payment before the procedure. Even still, “I no longer have fallopian tubes,” making it nearly impossible to get pregnant, she said, calling it the best decision she’s made in her life.

The creator said the directory led her to a physician who respected her decision. “I did not have any issues. I felt very seen, heard, validated, listened to,” she said. “My doctor was a man. So shout out to that man.”
