‘It’s not a taxi!’: Men hurl abuse at women after not understanding the concept of an Uber and jumping in their ride

How do these guys not know how Uber works?

The amount of toxic behavior women have to deal with from men is shocking. If things weren’t recorded on mobile phones then a good deal of this psychopathic behavior would likely never even come to light which is why phones and social media such as TikTok have become integral in holding men accountable for their actions.

In this case two women found themselves being subjected to some pretty despicable verbal abuse after a couple of men hopped in the Uber that they ordered.

The two-minute clip was posted online by Neive and, although it doesn’t catch the start of the altercation, it’s easy to piece together what’s going on. There’s no footage of the men but the audio is clear as day and it’s pretty frustrating to hear such ignorance and unjustified vitriol from these clueless guys.

thank goodness we had such an amazing uber driver that refused to move until they got out the car🙏 girls please be careful when getting in ubers alone, especially going back home, you may not be as lucky for them to actually get out #foryou #awareness #womensrights

The two men berate the women in the video and dismiss them despite being completely in the wrong and the aggressive and insulting language only serves to make them look even more pathetic. Commenters on TikTok suggested that Neive share the clip on a local Facebook page to see if the pair could be identified by their voices.

Do these guys know how Uber works?

The men can be heard saying “we were here before you,” which suggests that they don’t understand how Uber works. The men sound young enough to have heard of Uber before and the transportation service has been around for 15 years so you’d definitely think these guys should know how it works. Then again, maybe these guys just arrived on earth yesterday.

Uber works by customers putting in the destination on their phone and then paying. You can’t just jump in a nearby Uber and expect to be taken wherever you like.

Whatever the case, the men were somehow smart enough to figure out that it was a taxi but not smart enough to listen to Neive and her friend explain that they had booked the Uber. For whatever reason they struggled to comprehend that the driver would not be taking them to town simply because they hopped in first.

Perhaps it just hurts their egos to be corrected by women. Either way, the men finally get up and leave after the Uber driver asks them to get out.

Other women empathized with Nieve and her friend in the comments. “We are not safe,” wrote one, adding “so sorry to both of you.” “hope you girls are okay well done for how you handled this!!” another added. While Nieve commended the Uber driver for not moving until they got out a few viewers criticized him for not intervening sooner, but considering how bad some Uber drivers are this one was practically a saint.
