LA man orders Wingstop through Uber Eats. Then he opens the bag and sees what he actually got: ‘this is why I pay $1 for all flats’

Flats in disguise?

TikTok creator amiri3x ordered Wingstop through Uber Eats, but his order arrived with drums instead of the flats he had requested. He filmed his reaction and posted it to TikTok, where the video has gained more than 680,000 views.

The video shows a tray of seasoned drumettes alongside two dipping sauces. The creator also holds up a printed receipt that clearly lists “All Flats” as one of the items. He sounds annoyed as he asks who would want a box full of drums. Customers filming their Wingstop bags is nothing new on the app, and this clip fits that pattern. The footage shows about 10 drumettes in the box.

One commenter explained their preference. “this is why i pay $1 for all flats,” the user wrote. A reply to it said “he paid for all flats lol that’s what makes it worse”.  Although the receipt reads “All Flats,” the video does not establish why the order contained drums.

Why some Wingstop orders have more drums than flats

Chicken wings come in two cuts: drums, which carry more meat, and flats, which are easier to strip from the bone. Which cut people prefer comes down to personal taste. According to MEL Magazine, Wingstop’s marketing team has said guests choose flats far more often when given the choice. That preference could help explain why some orders contain more drums than flats.

One commenter claiming to work at Wingstop offered a similar explanation. “Working at wingtop too many of y’all order flats so we’re stuck with drums. Not our fault we gotta use the chicken bro,” the user wrote. The comment has received more than 1,500 likes.

Wing orders have sparked pricing complaints at other chains, too. One Zaxby’s customer questioned the cost of traditional wings, arguing that the per-wing pricing did not add up.

The comments are divided over which cut is better. One user wrote, “I fucking hate drums. Flats are elite, argue with a wall,” while another argued, “Drums are way better than flats. They are much easier to eat and dip in sauce. And they have way more meat.” Neither Wingstop nor Uber Eats had commented on the video at the time of writing.
