A man says he and his two siblings worked together over several years to make sure their mother’s former partner faced consequences after the man’s mother allegedly discovered he had been unfaithful, according to a post shared on the Reddit forum r/ProRevenge. The man, who posted under the username LoneRainger, said the situation began after his mother’s boyfriend was accused of cheating with a coworker while he was still living with the family.
According to the post, the man’s mother, then 50, started dating Chris, 45, shortly after her 25-year marriage ended. The man said his mother worked as a corrections officer at a county jail and reportedly met Chris while he was incarcerated on a DUI-related charge. The poster wrote that Chris later moved in with the family, which included himself, his brother, and his sister.
The poster said Chris was later implicated in a separate federal case tied to gang and drug activity involving his relatives in Texas, and that he agreed to testify against family members in exchange for a reduced sentence. After Chris returned, the man said his drinking worsened over time, and his mother eventually asked him to leave the home.
Coworker’s claims reportedly exposed alleged affair and pregnancy
The day after Chris moved out, a coworker identified in the post as Betty allegedly told the mother that Chris had been having an affair with another coworker, identified as Darla, and that Darla was pregnant. The poster said Betty claimed to have caught the two together at work and that Chris had threatened to fire her if she spoke up. When confronted, the man said Chris admitted to the affair and said he was happy about the pregnancy.
While the mother reportedly wanted to move on without taking further action, the poster said he and his siblings decided to contact the franchise owner of the Dairy Queen location where Chris worked, informing him of the alleged conduct. Family reactions to infidelity don’t always line up, as seen in another case where a mother and her kids responded very differently to news of cheating.
According to the post, Chris was fired and barred from other locations owned by the same franchisee, and Betty was promoted into his former position. The poster said that after Chris began working at another Dairy Queen location in a nearby town, he and his siblings also told that store’s management about the allegations, which the man said eventually led to a second firing. Although, people have found other ways to settle the score after being cheated on as well.
The man wrote that Chris later began driving near the family’s home, despite reportedly never having had his license reinstated following his earlier DUI probation.
According to the post, the siblings contacted the police and reported that Chris was likely driving without a valid license. He was reportedly pulled over weeks later and arrested for driving without a license while intoxicated. The man said a subsequent check of the property where Chris was staying turned up firearms, which reportedly added further legal trouble given his status as a felon.
The poster said Chris was then returned to custody in Texas to face the earlier federal case, and that his son with Darla was born while he was incarcerated. According to the post, Darla cut ties with Chris during this time, and the mother burned letters he sent her from prison. The man said Chris was later released and now lives in Kansas, where he is contesting a child support case filed by Darla.
The poster also said his mother is now in a relationship with someone he described as treating her better than Chris did. The post drew mixed reactions from commenters on r/ProRevenge. One user wrote, “I’m glad it worked out well, but I also think you got a bit lucky. A felon with guns at home, driving around your neighborhood drunk, probably stalking your mom. That could have gone south, and bad.” Other commenters praised the siblings, writing, “Good on you to stand up for your Mom!”
Some commenters questioned whether the actions described amounted to a coordinated revenge campaign. One person wrote, “Once again, dropping a dime is not pro level revenge.” Another commenter said they understood the family’s motivation but raised concerns about the child born to Chris and Darla.
