TikToker vivs.jamz, who works part-time as a babysitter in Michigan, has gained over 40.4 million views for a TikTok series about a bad job. The posts are a collection of text messages between her and her client, which were then fed through the Suno app to create a country track that narrates the entire chaotic saga. To be fair to the client, we only have the TikToker’s perspective.
In the first post, the trouble started with a simple message, “Hey, we won’t be home until 2 AM. Sorry for the late notice.” The babysitter, who had been hired only until 5 PM, immediately pushed back because she had another job to get to at 7 PM, only for the mother to tell vivs.jamz that she wasn’t asking and that “Our plans aren’t flexible sorry!”
When viv.jamz insisted that they needed to find someone else, the client dropped a small threat: “I’m actually not FYI it’s illegal to leave a child alone so I wouldn’t leave at five if I was you :))” The sitter did not back down, stating, “ummm ok it’s also illegal to blackmail. see you at 5 :)” The client then doubled down with, “We aren’t coming.”
The TikToker goes from irritated to flabbergasted quickly
Viewers were rightfully losing their minds from just that glimpse. Another TikToker trishapaytas commented, “Omg 😳 what happened??” to which vivs.jamz replied, “LMAO THEY NEVER CAME HOME!!😭” Other users were equally stunned. 𝕹𝖎𝖐𝖎𝖙𝖆 suggested, “call the cops bc what 😭” while Spencer noted, “Being rude to someone who’s caring for ur child is an odd choice.”
In the second post, we learn the crazy reason for the delay. After the sitter threatened to call the police at 5 PM, the client first tried to intimidate vivs.jamz. They tell her, “Hunny I’m a lawyer little girls like you son’t scare me.” Then they revealed, “It’s honestly rude you won’t watch her considering the fact this is a once in a lifetime opportunity we CANT pass up.”
When the sitter asked what that opportunity was, the client explained, “The Casino says if we stay for 10 more hours and spend 10K we could win a new ninja blender!” User Shelbyyyy summarized the choice best, “Spending 10k to have the CHANCE to win a ninja blender when you could just buy one for like 200 dollars….”
In the next post, vivs.jamz held her ground, and they kept arguing as the deadline approached. When the sitter pointed out that the blender was only worth about $100, the client retorted, “You clearly know nothing about building a customer relationship at the casino haha maybe we can teach you someday and bring the kids out!” The client even attempted to offer a raise, saying, “I suppose I can give you a raise from $10/hour to $15/hour if you stay.”
The TikToker found this particularly alarming. As she highlighted in post 4, “we agreed to $20/hour what are you saying right now?” She then reminded the mother that she had half an hour to get home which prompted her to call vivs.jamz “difficult.” She then offered a horrendous solution: “Just bring them with you if it’s that big of a deal.”
The sitter responded, “I work at a strip club you know this.” The client then decided to stop the conversation entirely, stating, “Ok. I am no longer entertaining this conversation. I will unblock you when we are on the way home, see you at 2!”
In the follow-up post, vivs-jamz followed through on her threat. She messaged the client, “Okay! Just letting you know i’m on my way to the police station right now, they both have overnight bags.”
After the client responded with, “Haha I would love to see you try,” the sitter sent a photo of the children outside the station and added, “haha your kids are waiting on you! ps you have a warrant.” The client then threatened, “I’m gonna sue you for neglect.”
In posts 6 through 9, vivs.jams recorded the fallout. The client, who found out about the videos, demanded it be taken down and threatened a cease and desist. The client even went on Facebook to leave a negative review.
In the final parts of the series, the client complained, “Also I find it insanely disrespectful that you would drop my babies off at the police station. We didn’t know where they were for hours!” The sitter simply replied, “girl. You blocked me.”
Vivs.jamz isn’t the only babysitter to struggle. Last year, a babysitter only got an apology after the kid did $1000 in damage. Outside of child care, a man reminded a Redditor she is ‘lucky’ he didn’t make her life ‘miserable,’ when she didn’t agree to his entitled request.
