‘Moments before disaster’: Restaurant worker’s phone took a cheese bath, and now it’s oozing out of every crack

Kitchen work certainly ain’t for the faint of heart as one woman on TikTok has perfectly demonstrated after sharing her traumatizing experience with molten cheese.

Piper is a restaurant worker who is currently going viral online after sharing a hilarious video of her heaving a bag of molten cheese to the trash. The caption reads “12th hour of the shift be like,” and we see Piper set up her phone to capture the perfect angle of her throwing the bag into the trash only for it to split open at just the right moment to fly directly towards the phone camera.

The way that cheese flew out was sort of like a jumpscare in some cheap 3D movie. Someone should definitely edit the Dark Souls game over screen over the end of the video. Everything about the video is hilarious, from the perfect camera placement, the comedic timing of the cheese bag, to the vast quantity of cheese flying at the viewer’s faces. Who ever knew a dairy product could be this funny?

The response from viewers was a mix of laughter, confusion, and concern for Piper’s phone. One viewer asked “no one thought to double bag the wet hot cheese??” While another wrote, “I have never in my life laughed so hard at a tiktok thank you.”

Others shared their own grim experiences involving phones and/or gross liquids from the kitchen. “I dropped mine in a bowl of mayo at work I feel your pain,” wrote one. Another added, “When I worked making fried chicken, it was taking forever to clean up. I was already there an hour and a half later than scheduled. I took out the trash, and it spilled all over me.” Even the official account for Lenovo got involved asking, “do you need a new phone.”

TikTok wants to know if the phone’s okay

Of course, the question on everybody’s lips is whether Piper’s phone after literally taking a bath in liquid cheese. In a follow up video we got confirmation that the phone did indeed survive the cheese shower. However, there is apparently still cheese in the phone, “it still works though so we’re good.” She also explained to those who told her she should have double bagged it that it was already double bagged but it wasn’t enough.

The video currently sits at around 15 million views and almost 3 million likes. Honestly, a cheesy phone is a small price to pay for that level of internet virality.
