Rochester man records a black Honda fleeing a crash on his way to a wedding. Days later, he sees the car in the parking lot of his office: ‘Gotcha’

An unlikely reunion.

A Rochester, New York man said he was driving to a wedding when his dashcam recorded a black sedan swerving across lanes, striking a concrete median, and continuing down the highway without stopping. The TikTok video, posted by a creator with the profile name @graftonious, has gained over a million views and carries the caption “I couldn’t make this up if I tried.”

In the video, the dashcam footage is dated 10/18/2026 at 2:30 p.m. On-screen text states “Just minding my business heading to a wedding when……” as the vehicle travels on a sunny highway. A black sedan then moves from the left lane, crosses in front of the dashcam car, and hits the concrete median barrier, with debris flying.

The driver of the dashcam vehicle can be heard shouting, “What the f–k? What the f–k was that?” as the black sedan keeps driving and does not stop. The video later cuts to still photos of the aftermath, including one that shows the rear of a black Honda with a New York license plate and visible damage. On-screen text with that photo reads “from other people she had also hit and ran.”

Creator spots matching Honda outside his workplace ten days later

Another photo in the video shows the front bumper of a black GMC truck marked with white scuff marks. Additional on-screen text states “I call the police, report the accident” and “Officer arrives after an hour and half because he was already taking reports.”

The video then shifts to a date of 10/28/2026. The creator, a man wearing glasses and a beard, speaks to the camera outdoors. On-screen text reads “Show up to work and hmm….. this car looks familiar.” He films a black Honda parked outside his workplace, with text explaining “Apparently she was interviewing for an open position at my job.”

The creator walks around the Honda and shows damage to the front bumper, side panels, and rear bumper. On-screen text states “Remember folks, Rochester is big, but it ain’t that Big.” The camera focuses on the New York license plate, which matches the plate shown earlier in the dashcam-related photos. The video ends with the creator saying “Gotcha, b–ch!” while filming the damaged car.

In a later comment, the creator wrote that he called the police department to let them know she was at the location. He stated that officers did not arrive until 15 minutes after she left. He also wrote that he contacted her insurance carrier, which told him they could not get ahold of her, and that he offered to get her on the phone right then.

According to the comment, he put his phone on speaker, waited outside the office until the interview ended, confirmed her name out loud, and said there was a phone call for her. He described her as looking baffled and confused when the insurance representatives began speaking with her.

He added that she kept apologizing and offered excuses such as not realizing what had happened, being in a hurry, and being sorry. He wrote that he planned to call the insurance company again the next day.

Viewers responded to the coincidence described in the video. One viewer reacted to the sequence of events by writing, “wtf no way, hows that possible what a coincidence.” A separate commenter wrote, “Karma is amazing.” Vehicle problems can snowball in other ways, too, like when a Chicago man’s abandoned airport car racked up fines that his ex ended up owing.

One person shared a personal experience and wrote, “Good thing you had a camera. That happened to me and my insurance sided with the guy bc he claimed he was injured and he had a “witness” when he was with no one and police never showed up.”

Another wrote, “The universe really does work things out sometimes.” Disputes over vehicles can turn costly in unexpected ways, such as when a man returned from Dubai to find airport parking fines and a trashed car.
