A woman’s account of a solo backpacking trip is drawing attention online after she claimed a stranger’s arrival at her remote campsite changed the course of what was meant to be a quiet escape.
The story was shared on ConfessionswithJordan, a TikTok account where Jordan reads anonymous submissions about unusual experiences. The video opened with the sender’s account beginning, “this happened to me about four years ago,” before detailing the camping trip that allegedly changed how she viewed solo backpacking.
In the submission, the woman described herself as an experienced backpacker who regularly explored remote areas alone. She wrote that the campsite was deep in the backcountry, far from roads and other visitors.
The peaceful solo trip takes an unsettling turn
The isolation was part of the appeal, with the woman writing there were “no cars no roads no cell service, just me and the forest.” She said that changed while preparing dinner after noticing a man standing near her campsite.
According to the submission, the stranger remained still while watching her from a distance before approaching. She initially assumed he was another backpacker passing through, but grew uneasy when he asked whether she was alone and if anyone knew her location.
