Shirtless man issues a slur-filled threat at Florida Taco Bell. As he storms out, his words become a reality

A Florida man wearing a kilt allegedly plunged a Taco Bell into total darkness after he was insulted during a confrontation. The incident, which has gone viral across social media, shows the man making a threat as an electrician, before the power went out in the building.

The situation started while the man was standing in line at the restaurant. A heated argument broke out between him and another customer, and things escalated when the other person called him a “meth head.” Per the Daily Dot, the man shouted back, “I’m a f—— electrician!” He then made a bold promise to cut the power to the restaurant. 

In the video, several bystanders can be seen challenging him to go through with it, likely not believing he would actually do it. The man stormed out of the building, slamming the door behind him. Then, within seconds, the lights flickered, and the entire restaurant went dark, leaving everyone inside in silence. 

It is unclear if he is the one who cut the power, or if it was just a coincidence

The video, which was first shared on X by an account with the username @LASHYBILLS, has racked up over 13 million views. It has since been reshared across multiple accounts, although the exact origin of the footage remains unknown. 

The video has led to a massive influx of memes, GIFs, and even AI-generated images in the comment sections. Some users even questioned if the video was AI-generated because of the timing of the power outage. 

One user on X noted, “The dude did exactly what he said he was going to do. Mad Respect for that.” Another person joked, “They really thought they could challenge the god of lightning and come away unscathed lol.” 

Another commenter pointed out the irony of the situation, writing, “Why didn’t they believe him???? You see a man matching [sic] out like that, and they didn’t think he was actually going to do it?”

The video also gained significant traction on TikTok after a user named @kennyo.shae shared the clip. The reactions there were just as enthusiastic. One user observed, “It went dead silent when them lights went out!” 

Another person added, “When he swung that door open…I knew he wasn’t playing.” As one commenter put it, “Dude went outside, located the circuit breaker to cut all the power off!”

There was also plenty of focus on the people who dared him to do it. One TikTok user highlighted a woman in the video who had bet against the man, stating, “She definitely lost da [sic] bet.” 

This video, whether true or staged, reminds of other shocking incidents that have taken place. Recently, a Milwaukee man received a threat in the form of a city sign, which he chose to ignore, only to get stuck. In another instance, a man ignored instructions to leave while being racist, and choosing to ignore them led him to crash his car. The identity of the man in the kilt is still a mystery, but his threat and the karmic or real follow-up have left an impression on the internet.
