‘Took off his clothes’: Angry Burger King employee decides to get even before leaving. Then his ‘revenge’ shuts down the kitchen

He fell out with his manager.

A TikTok video posted by Breakingnews12 (@news09028) described a Burger King worker who, the narrator said, planned to get even with his manager before quitting. The clip was presented as breaking news under the on-screen headline “ANGRY FAST FOOD WORKER FLOODS FRYER WITH WATER BEFORE QUITTING JOB.” The video has gained 135,200 views.

The narrator said the man had been arguing with his manager for weeks. After that dispute, the worker claimed the manager began assigning him more difficult and exhausting tasks than other employees.

The video stated that the worker then decided to quit, but not before planning what he called a little revenge. The narrator said the plan was carried out on a day when the manager was not at the store.

Video shows a bath in the kitchen sink, and water poured into a fryer

The narrator said the worker “took off his clothes” and climbed into the restaurant’s kitchen sink to take a bath. Visuals in the clip showed a man sitting in a kitchen sink filled with soapy water. On-screen text labeled the sink as a restaurant bath and identified the person in the sink first as the manager and then as the man.

One of his co-workers filmed the moment, the narrator said. After the bath, the worker took water from the sink and threw it into a deep fryer, according to the video. The narrator said the water hit hot oil, causing the oil to splash out and spill onto the floor.

The kitchen was left covered in oil and could not continue operating normally, the video stated. The man told co-workers that he did not care because he was leaving the job anyway, the narrator said.

The video later showed the aftermath, including a kitchen floor covered in oil and debris and a co-worker cleaning a heavily soiled fryer area. When the clip spread online, many local residents said they were concerned about the restaurant’s hygiene and safety, the narrator stated. Some said they would avoid eating at that location in the future.

Burger King later filed a lawsuit against the man for the damage, including the cost of replacing the sink, the video said. The manager involved in the dispute was also reportedly demoted for poor supervision. The narrator ended by asking whether the revenge was worth the price the worker may now have to pay.

According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, retaliation occurs when employers treat applicants, employees, or former employees less favorably for reporting discrimination, taking part in a discrimination investigation or lawsuit, or opposing discrimination. The agency states that retaliation is illegal and that employers should inform workers it is prohibited, respond promptly to complaints, and make sure managers stop and prevent it.

Viewers reacting to the TikTok clip focused on hygiene, workplace rules, and who they believed was at fault. One commenter said the company should take legal action and warned about safety. They wrote, “The company should sue him for doing all that it’s unhygienic and the oil water mix dangerous.”

Another commenter pointed to workplace law. They wrote, “retaliation is considered illegal at work btw.” Retaliation can take many forms, such as when a different Burger King employee records herself dancing in the kitchen. A third commenter kept the warning short. They wrote, “somethings you shouldn’t do.”

One viewer placed the blame on management and said the situation could have been avoided. They wrote, “It’s all about leadership. The manager is 100% responsible. She lit the fuse. This could have been avoided by better supervision and not retaliation.”

Another commenter asked for more attention on fast-food working conditions and the risk of a fire. They wrote, “How about we start being more concerned with fast food employment and the employees mental health to avoid situations like this. This could’ve easily turned into a massive grease fire that could’ve hurt someone.” Fast-food work environments can present operational challenges, as seen when Burger King employees couldn’t make a menu item.
