A self-filmed TikTok video posted by Jess Olivia, who uses the account @jessoliviaaaa, shows her waking up in clear distress after she fell asleep with thick eyebrow tint still on her face. The clip, which has since gone viral, captures her realizing the product remained on overnight just as she had plans for the evening ahead. In the video, she appears with blocky dark tint smeared across both eyebrows.
Jess Olivia films herself speaking directly to the camera as she tries to scrub the tint away with a cotton pad and liquid from a clear bottle that has a pink pump. She grows more frantic when the color does not lift easily, at one point gasping and covering her mouth with her hand before switching the pad between her eyebrows and rubbing hard. Later in the clip, she picks up a yellow sponge, looks at it, and puts her hands on her head.
The TikTok carries the caption “THE PANIC I’ll never forget about this EVER.” Jess Olivia says in the video, “I’ve just woken up and I forgot to take my tint off my eyebrows,” adding that she has plans to go out that night. She continues, “No, this is not good because I’m going out tonight,” and notes that she also has a hairdresser’s appointment later. The video has gained 42.1 million views, 4.3 million likes, and 27,000 comments.
Creator later clarifies when the eyebrow incident actually took place
In the original clip, Jess Olivia describes shooting up after realizing what had happened. She says, “I fell asleep. I fell asleep. Oh my God, I’m going out tonight as well. I fell asleep with tint on my eyebrows.” She adds, “There’s no way. There’s just no way,” and mentions needing something stronger to remove the stain. She says, “I need some- I need some nail varnish remover or something,” as she keeps wiping her brows and looks increasingly shocked. Jess Olivia kept wiping her brows, trying to get eyebrow dye off her face.
A follow-up TikTok video she posted carries the caption “Anyway I redid my eyebrows today again and vids are posted.” In that clip, Jess Olivia says the original footage was from a few months earlier and that she simply decided to share it again this week because she thought it was funny. She notes that the reposted video reached 20 million views and that she has been replying to comments, which she finds hilarious.
Jess Olivia explains that she tinted her eyebrows again on the day she posted the follow-up, and that some viewers began commenting on those newer videos as if they showed the “before” of the earlier disaster.
She states, “Thinking that that is the before. I can’t explain it, I can’t explain it,” and adds that people wrote things such as “oh my God, I’m here before the disaster.” She clarifies that the original event “happened ages ago” and that the timeline many commenters assumed was incorrect.
In the same follow-up, she says she has uploaded explanation videos and “part 2” clips to address the confusion. She states that some viewers claimed the additional videos were not up, but she maintains they are because she posted them.
She ends the clip by saying she simply wanted to clear the sequence of events because the mix-up was “bugging” her. Falling asleep at the wrong moment can go wrong fast, as a woman falling asleep on a flight showed.
Viewers responded to the original panic video with a mix of practical suggestions and jokes about her evening plans. One commenter advised, “Just put concealer.” Another wrote, “you ain’t going anywhere tonight.”
A third recalled, “2016 me would have seen this as a tutorial.” One person responded to her mention of going out by saying, “I’m goin out tonight” get comfy cause no you NOT. Another suggested she “lay low for a while.”
