Woman goes to Fratelli’s Pizza in Georgia and says the owner made racist remark to her face and repeated it ‘over and over.’ She’s still in disbelief

Her alleged crime? She pointed out the pizza wasn't cooked.

A Georgia woman says the owner of a pizza restaurant made a comment to her that she believes was racially motivated, after a dispute over a food order. The woman named Jada, who posts on TikTok as @jadathedoll, said the incident happened at Fratelli’s in Snellville, Georgia.

Jada said in her video that she went to get food for her husband and ended up in a dispute over her order, which she said arrived late, wrong, and undercooked. She said a man who identified himself as the owner told her, “You need to calm down, this ain’t the streets.”

She wrote in the caption, “This is my first time experiencing blatant repetitive racism out in public. Mind you we are in Gwinnett GA. There’s nothing ghetto about this area so this is how I know that when he made the comment towards me, he was directing it at my skin color. They made me wait over an hour for their mistakes, did not offer a refund until I start to get aggravated. And not only that he had two Black people on staff who did not speak up.”

She says pizza was undercooked and not sliced

Jada said in a follow-up TikTok video that she had been getting her nails done at a salon next to Fratelli’s when her husband called and asked her to bring home a pizza. She said she then went into Fratelli’s and ordered a medium pizza with extra cheese, extra pepperoni, and extra sauce, along with a chicken parmesan pasta for herself.

Your girl is tired and stressed from work and today was supposed to be an off day for me.) this is my first time experiencing blatant repetitive racism out in public. I really wish I had my phone because showing you guys how it went down would be so much more powerful than you guys seeing me cry about this.

She said she waited in her car for about 20 to 25 minutes before checking her receipt and noticing that only the chicken parmesan pasta had been rung up. She said she went back inside and was told by an employee that the pizza had not been included in the order. According to Jada, she then had to wait an additional 20 to 25 minutes for the pizza to be made.

Once she got home, Jada said her husband opened the pizza box and told her it was not cut and appeared undercooked. She said the dough looked white and the cheese had not melted. She said she brought the pizza back to the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager.

Jada said an employee got heated with her when she brought the pizza back, insisting that the pizza had been fully cooked. “It’s cooked, it’s cooked. You asked for extra cheese, extra sauce, and extra pepperoni,” the employee allegedly told her. Jada said she responded, “That’s not the problem. I’m telling you the problem is it’s not cooked. I’m telling you it’s not cooked. I’m not eating this. It’s not cooked.”

Here is a more clear and descriptive timeline for you guys because a lot of people seem very confused about how I acted even though I’ve been pretty clear in the comment section of the last video of how I acted but here’s a video without me crying. I am not trying to garner any type of sympathy. I am completely open to being told if I did something wrong however I still stand on the fact that I felt like the comment that was made to me was racially stereotypical.

Jada claimed a man identifying himself as an employee had already agreed to issue her a refund when another man, whom she identified as the owner and named as Danny, approached and asked what the problem was. She said she explained the situation to him while visibly annoyed. She said Danny then asked if she wanted the pizza remade, and she responded by shaking her head and saying “mm-mm” repeatedly.

According to Jada, Danny then told her, “Wait a minute, you need to calm down, this ain’t the streets.” She said she replied, “You don’t get to say that to me.” She said he repeated the phrase multiple times, “over and over and over.” Jada said she told him, “This is not the streets. You do not get to say that to me,” to which he allegedly responded, “I own this place.” She said she then asked him why he had not come over to issue the refund himself if he was the owner, if that was the case.

In her first video, Jada described the man as “some random fat white man” and said she initially assumed he was a manager. She said she did not have her phone with her at the time and was unable to record the exchange. “Something told me, ‘Jada, grab your phone, grab your phone, grab your phone,'” she said, adding that she chose not to because she thought the situation “wasn’t that deep.” Public confrontations involving racist remarks have been noticed elsewhere, like when a Florida woman was filmed making a racist remark and threatening to call ICE on a man who had been hit by a car.

In her follow-up video, Jada addressed viewers who had questioned her reaction in the first clip. “I still stand on the fact that I felt like the comment that was made to me was racially stereotypical,” she wrote in the caption. In the video, she said, “I don’t think that that comment was said because, oh, I was acting a certain way. Like, I think he was being stereotypical and he wanted a rise out of me.”

Jada claimed she ultimately received a refund for the pizza but not for the chicken parmesan pasta, which she said she kept and did not eat. She said the second video would be her last on the matter, stating she did not want to “beat a dead horse with a stick.”

Viewers appeared divided in the comments section of her video. “Press charges and sue due to discrimination,” one user wrote. Another commenter took a different view, writing, “I don’t think his comment was racist, but it was definitely unprofessional and rude!” Such debates about racism and professionalism have also arisen in other services, like when a woman alleges racism after a nail salon skipped her in line

A third viewer suggested Jada’s own conduct may have played a role, commenting, “But maybe it was because you were being rude when you came in. If I saw someone being rude to someone that works somewhere even if their order was wrong I would probably say the same thing.” Others said they wanted more context before forming an opinion, with one writing, “I wanna hear their side of the story.” Well, since the pizza restaurant in question hasn’t acknowledged or addressed her accusations, we might not be getting the full story any time soon.
