Minnesota woman pulls up to a Burger King drive-thru and sees an employee in full blackface. Then she asks why: ‘I just want to be Black’

It appeared to be a Halloween look.

A Minnesota woman filmed a Burger King drive-thru worker in full blackface and asked why she was wearing it. Chevy, who posts on Facebook as Chevy Vs Man-Man, sat in her vehicle and turned the camera toward the window, where the employee stood in a maroon shirt with blackface makeup on.

Chevy asks the worker to repeat what she said earlier. The employee looks at the camera and replies, “I’m just black, right?” Chevy then prompts her again about whether she thought the makeup was okay. The worker answers, “As long as you have a good heart.”

The Facebook reel has gone viral and gained over nine million views. In the caption, Chevy wrote, “Yall taking this HALLOWEEN S–T TO FAR NOW Go wipe that s–t off yo face BECKY BEFORE MY BLK A– GET MAD.”

Chevy presses the worker on her reason for the makeup

Chevy continues the exchange from inside her car. She asks if good intentions mean the worker supports Black Lives Matter. The employee gestures while counting money and says, “Well, no, I just want to be black. Let me not.”

Chevy challenges her further. She asks, “Why would you want to be black? Do you know the struggles that we go through as black people?” The worker laughs and says, “Alright, sorry, you make me laugh, sorry. No, yes, yes I do.” She quickly corrects herself, adding, “Or I mean, no, I don’t. No, I don’t. No I don’t.” The exchange echoes another Minnesota fast-food incident where a woman claimed she couldn’t be racist.

The clip shows the worker holding paper currency at the window throughout the conversation. Chevy films from the driver’s seat, with the steering wheel visible at points as she pans toward the employee.

Viewers left mixed reactions under the post. One commenter said the worker seemed scared and wrote, “I find this hilarious… u can tell she genuinely didn’t mean nothing harmful. She was so scared.” Another commenter welcomed the employee and stated, “She is hilarious and ALWAYS welcome to the cookout.” A third suggested people should not overreact, writing, “we don’t have to be sensitive to every little thing, sometimes we can just laugh n keep moving.”

Some focused on Chevy’s car. One wrote, “As you roll up to a fast food joint in your 25k+ car lmao. Ya the struggle is real.” Another questioned the restaurant, stating, “Why did her job even allow that???!!!! They she be shut down!!!” Racially charged videos like this often divide the internet, as seen when a Walmart shopper’s green card question went viral.
