Woman takes one bite of a Walmart snack. Then she finds an unknown liquid inside and rushes to the ER: ‘pay attention to your food’

TikTok creator Raine Miracles says a bag of Good Eat’n Hot Hot Hot Baked Puffs from a Walmart grocery delivery left her with a mouth full of liquid she couldn’t identify. She had eaten roughly half the bag on a normal night in before biting into a puff and feeling something spill out.

“So I’m eating. I had got down to half the bag, and then I put one in my mouth and I bite down and I just feel liquid secretions just spilling out all in my mouth. And I spit it out and I’m like, ‘Eww, what is that?'” she says in the video.

She turned the bag over to look inside, showing viewers orange residue coating the bottom. “This is the bottom of the bag. I just have it turned upside down. Look how wet and saturated this is,” she says. She then found a small hole near the bottom and argued that its appearance didn’t look like an ordinary puncture. “So you can tell something was literally injected in the bag and pulled out. It’s not like it was just punctured. Otherwise it would be smooth on the outside,” she says.

The hole raised more questions

That’s what Raine believes happened. The original video doesn’t show any testing, and she never identifies what the liquid actually was. She has since said in a follow-up that she developed chest and stomach pain and went to an emergency room in Apex, North Carolina, where tests came back clear.

The comments offered several explanations that had nothing to do with tampering. One commenter described a similar oily bag from the same brand’s nacho cheese variety months earlier, writing, “I think this is a manufacturing issue… I wrote them a complaint because it happened to several of the bags I bought at one point. Now they fixed them. At least the Nacho ones.” 

Another, who said they’d worked in a chip factory, suggested the hole could have come from a routine freshness check instead, writing, “every hour we have to stab a bag to check the nitrogen level (what keeps chips fresh) and I’m 90% positive this is what the puncture hole is.” The uncertainty over what was actually inside the bag also recalls another viral food video, in which a woman said she found something moving inside a jar of chili powder from Aldi.

Later in the video, Raine shows the puffs up close, pointing out how greasy they look. “It is not supposed to be greasy-looking like this. I don’t know what this is,” she says, holding one up to the camera.

She wasn’t the only shopper to find something unexpected in food that looked perfectly normal at first. A Dallas woman said she found an inedible item inside a loaf of Dave’s Killer Bread. Some commenters focused less on the cause and more on whether she should have had to inspect the bag at all. “You shouldn’t have to inspect your food when it’s unopened! This is wild,” one wrote.

Raine closes the video by reflecting on how little she used to check her food before eating it, saying she used to eat snacks in the dark while watching movies without a second thought. She ends with a warning to viewers: “Don’t be like me. Never think you are bigger than the program,” before telling them to “pay attention to your food.
