Woman visits Victoria’s Secret to return her husband’s gift. Then the cashier asks if she wants to return the other products she had never seen before

"Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear VS wings."

While in line to exchange an item at Victoria’s Secret, Astra witnessed a situation that felt like one out of a drama series. Known on Instagram as thatspicygworl, she shared her version of the story in two videos that has over 650K views combined. She noted that she “never in my life wanted to mind my business less” when the woman in front of her received what Astra described as “Exhibit A in her husband’s ongoing investigation.”

In her first post, Astra told her viewers that the woman in front of her was also returning something her husband had bought for her. “Apparently, you know, he must share the same philosophy as every man on the planet. Just guess and pray,” she wryly noted. That is when things got interesting. “The cashier asked if she would like to return the other items purchased on the account.”

The woman apparently asked, “What other items?” This caused Astra to note, “Baby, why did the cashier start listing off lace body suits? Matching sets? Honeymoon level purchases this woman apparently had never seen before, and also not in her size?” The husband, who was present, allegedly tried to deflect, claiming it had to be a mistake. Astra said that he suggested that his mother or his assistant might have used the account, and even hinted that the store mixed it up.

As you would expect, no one seemed to believe him

Astra recounted that the man was stuttering through his excuses. As he did so, she said that the wife got “weirdly calm.” Astra narrated, “She looks at her phone and then looks back up at this man and calmly, like weirdly calmly says, ‘Interesting,’ because every single one of these purchases happened during your Thursday golf league.”

Astra was rather impressed by her calmness, stating that she “would have had to be escorted out of there.”  The couple eventually left, with the man allegedly begging his wife to talk to him. Once the couple was gone, the cashier apparently told Astra she was glad the man finally came in with his wife. Astra mentioned that she was told, “Yeah, he comes in every week.  Usually, he’s buying for his girlfriend, and then he’ll also buy something for his wife.”

Astra expressed shock that the man seemed to have a system. In her next post, Astra told her viewers that the cashier mentioned, “the girlfriend would get red lace, and the wife would get pajamas. If the girlfriend got the honeymoon collection, the wife got maybe body spray and a coupon.” The cashier then told her that she only remembered him because he allegedly never let his girlfriend use the coupons.

In the comments, Instagrammers were sure the cashier had done the reveal on purpose.  One user commented, “All I see is a shop assistant who KNEW what the husband was doing and that was her way of helping the wife.” Interestingly, a lot of users who identified themselves as Victoria’s Secret employees claimed this happened often. Many also declared that they always try to help the wives.

A user summarized this by noting, “Victoria secret employees have been doing the Lord’s works for DECADES…..not kidding DECADES.” Others praised the cashier’s actions, with one person writing, “Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear VS wings.”

The situation raises a classic ethical dilemma about whether you should tell someone if you know their partner is cheating. Per ABC’s Triple J, 92% of people say they would want to know if they were being cheated on. However, Triple J’s findings show that while 82% of people claim they would tell someone, only 53% actually follow through when the situation arises.

People reportedly hesitate because they feel it’s none of their business, they worry it might not be true, or they fear the fallout of getting involved in someone else’s relationship. In fact, recently, a woman kissed an old friend, and then learned that he was in a relationship. She then incurred Reddit’s derision for choosing not to say anything.

Sex coach Georgia Grace suggests that there is a big difference between hearing a rumor and seeing something with your own eyes. If you have not seen the infidelity yourself, it might be useful to do some information gathering first. A TikToker did this when she learned that her childhood best friend was cheating on her brother

Ultimately, speaking up is about what you think is right. If you do, Triple J notes that the information should be delivered safely and respectfully. It should also be in person so that you can offer support. Grace pointed out that professionals can’t tell people what to do in their relationships. Rather, they seek to create a safe space for people to come to their own conclusions.
