Take A Look Back At Harry Potter

This Friday, it all ends. That's right, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will arrive in theatres this week and it will wrap up arguably one of the greatest stories of the decade. This Friday, it all ends. That’s right, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will arrive in theatres this week and it will wrap up arguably one of the greatest stories of the decade. Admittedly, the movies aren’t that impressive, but the novels that they are based on are hands down some of the best fiction out there.

I’ve always been one of those people that while I’ve never loved the films, I’ll still watch them just because I’m a big fan of the books.

My biggest problems with the films is that they each have that “best of” quality to them. They play out like a compilation of the best scenes from the book, making them feel significantly less satisfying and fleshed out when compared to the novels.

Granted, this isn’t necessarily the fault of the filmmakers. The Harry Potter books are all quite long and I can imagine they’d be very tough to adapt to film, not many novels of this scale get it right when they head to the big screen.

Peter Jackson managed to pull it off with The Lord Of The Rings but with the Harry Potter films, I’ve really never truly enjoyed any of them, they just haven’t nailed it yet.

Rambling aside, with the final film in the series arriving this week, we have one last featurette for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. This one takes a look back at the series and is a recap of sorts, catching us up to speed so we’re all ready for the big event on Friday.

Check it out below and get ready for one last foray into the world of Hogwarts.
