Colorado father decapitated 13yo son after the boy stumbled upon photos of him eating feces out of a diaper

Dylan Redwine went missing after confronting his father about some deeply disturbing photos.

Dylan Redwine didn’t want to visit his father for Thanksgiving in 2012 and his apprehension was very much justified as the 13-year-old would end up stumbling upon some disturbingly explicit photos while there that would lead to his father killing him and decapitating his body.

Dylan was only visiting his father as it was ordered by the courts, his mother would have faced legal repercussions should the teenager not visit. So the young boy left on a flight bound for Colorado on November 18, 2012. It was the last day he would be seen alive by anyone else. Security footage showed Dyaln’s father, Mark, arriving to pick him up from the airport; there was little interaction between the two as per The Express.

Cory, Dylan’s older brother, claimed that Dylan had wanted to stay at a friend’s house that night but his father had denied the request. The last known communication from him was around 6:30 am when he texted his friend to let him know he would be around later that day. At 6:46 am the friend grew concerned after Dylan hadn’t shown up like he said he would so he texted to find out what was going on but never received a reply.

What happened to Dylan?

Mark would later tell Dylan’s mother, Elaine Hall, that he had left the house on the morning of November 19 to run errands and when he returned the young teen was missing. Hall immediately suspected that Mark had done something horrific.

Dylan’s decapitated body was found around eight months later, in the wilderness. Search warrants were issued for Mark’s residence and traces of blood were found in the living room. Cadaver dogs also found evidence of a body in the room as well as in the bed of a pick up truck belonging to Mark.

The older brother, Cory, told PEOPLE in 2017 that Dylan had confronted his father over some disturbing photos the two brothers had stumbled upon the year prior. The contents of said photos had deeply disturbed both boys as they showed Mark dressed in women’s lingerie, eating what looked to be feces out of a diaper.

Cory claimed that he had encouraged Dylan to confront their father about the images, telling him “You should always be able to tell your dad how you feel.” Unfortunately, it seems Dylan confronting his father about the pictures sent Mark into a fit of rage. It’s believed he murdered his son, decapitated him, and then transported his body into the wilderness for animals to scavenge.

Mark was convicted of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death in 2021. He was sentenced to 48 years. He still insists that he is innocent and that Dylan Redwine wondered into the wilderness on his own.
