Missing Georgia dentist found alive, but her husband announces his wife is ‘NOT SAFE’

Police say the case is closed — loved ones allege a different story.

A harrowing week-long search ended when Dr. Melanie Nadler Litt — a Marietta, Georgia dentist reported missing — was located safe. But despite that fact, her husband has now alleged that the case is far from over.

Dr. Litt, who practices in Cobb County and lives in Marietta near Atlanta, was last seen on Monday, October 13, 2025. The following morning, she failed to report to the Family Dentistry at Seven Hills office where she worked. Coworkers called the police, and investigators conducted a welfare check at her home, where they found her phone inside the residence, but her wallet and car were missing.

Litt’s husband — identified in some reports only as Mr. Litt (no first name disclosed) or on social media as “Lesley”— was out of state at the time and is the one who initially filed the missing-person report. Litt’s adult child was away at school when she vanished.

What happened to Dr. Litt?

Amid the search, investigators found Litt’s vehicle abandoned behind a business off Barrett Parkway in Cobb County, where Marietta is located. On Sunday, October 19, the Cobb County Police Department announced Dr. Litt had been located. Her discovery came after a former patient, a man named Billy Robertson, spotted her outside the Town Center Mall in Marietta and called 911. He recognised her from years earlier when she removed his wisdom teeth. Police stated there was no indication of foul play in her disappearance.

Despite the police closing the case, her husband publicly contested the finding in a social media post, claiming, “Melanie is NOT SAFE. She was observed being dragged around a market by the person she is with.” Lesley goes on to allege that Litt is being manipulated and controlled. “When confronted by the gentleman who spotted them because she was his dentist, the guy she was with started yelling at him,” the unverified post said.

Lesley’s unconfirmed post continues, “She is so scared of the person she’s with, she was not forthright with the police. He was charged with beating one of his wives. She is in a mental health crisis and needs professional help intervention IMMEDIATELY.”

Lesley then alleged justice was not served, and they let Litt and the man she was with leave.”If anyone sees her, please do not let her leave and call 988 and share her location,” Lesley’s post said.

The mysterious companion and the alleged affair

Official police statements have not identified the man with Litt when police contacted her. However, unconfirmed social media posts report his name is Anthony Nester (sometimes spelled “Nestor”) of Kennesaw, Georgia. Unverified reports have now linked him to a purported decade-long affair with Dr. Litt. One report claims the man’s own wife reported him missing on October 11, days before Dr. Litt’s disappearance.

While the initial harrowing week-long search for Dr. Litt ended with her being officially located safe by the Cobb County Police Department, the circumstances remain highly disputed. Law enforcement closed the missing person case, stating there was no indication of foul play. But the public concern of Litt’s family members leaves the full context of her disappearance — at least for now — largely undisclosed.
