1) The Walking Dead Season 6
We all know how The Walking Dead works by now. The season premieres kick off in typically explosive fashion, but then immediately winds the action down for a few episodes where the survivors mill about aimlessly before gearing up once again for the mid-season finale. The second half of each season then follows a similar pattern building up to the final episode. Rinse cycle, repeat.
In that case, why on earth then does The Walking Dead deserve the top spot in this rundown? Well, at its best, it is still one of the most exciting programs aired within the past ten years and let’s face it, season five was the best one yet. This bodes well for season six, which has just begun airing before Halloween, although high expectations could be the show’s downfall.
So far though, season six has been extremely impressive, developing the tense relationships built between the various factions of Alexandria while still keeping the action stakes high. With the Wolves on the horizon and perhaps even fan favourite Negan close behind, the survivors aren’t short of deadly yet fascinating enemies heading their way in the coming weeks.
If the showrunners decide to follow the comic book events more closely, then something potentially bad could also happen to Carl soon, so that’s as good a reason any to check out The Walking Dead now, even if you gave up on the show a few seasons back, like while they were all on the farm.
Trust us. Things have improved dramatically since then.
