8 Things We Want To See In Westworld Season 2

Unlike a lot of shows, HBO's Westworld lived up to all the hype surrounding it before its release and became must-watch television. The sci-fi western drama proved to be a fresh take on the familiar 'robots go rogue' story, offering a multi-layered puzzlebox of a first season. Week by week it piled on the intrigue and mystery, garnering a very active and devoted fanbase of theorists and easter egg hunters. Even better, it then stuck the landing and provided most of the answers that we were looking for in an exciting and satisfying feature-length finale, titled "The Bicameral Mind."

While Dolores has her destiny tied to the park, Maeve had a real chance to escape – and almost managed it, too. However, in a moment that proved her humanity she hopped off the train away from Westworld and went back to rescue her daughter – or at least, the host that used to be programmed as her daughter.

Something tells us this might be a decision she’ll come to regret, but we’d like to think that she’ll somehow make it out. From a storytelling point of view, it could feel repetitive if we spend another season with Maeve scheming to escape. Witnessing her getting to grips with the real world could make for an even more dramatic storyline than keeping her in the park. After all, the world must be in pretty poor shape if everyone is dying to go back to Western times.

Unfortunately, we have a feeling that Maeve might still being controlled by someone – maybe Charlotte, as part of her plan to smuggle secrets out of the park. Hopefully we’re wrong, though.

Come on, can’t one of the hosts get some sort of happy ending?
