A cult favorite episodic historical epic being removed from Netflix next month after 4 years of bloody battlefield carnage

Better binge it while you still can.

If you were asked to name a brutal and bloody episodic historical epic that initially aired on The History Channel before finding an even bigger audience on Netflix, then you’d probably answer Vikings seeing as sequel series Valhalla has become a major hit on the platform, which might be one of the reasons why Knightfall slipped through the cracks.

The two-season cult favorite told the story of fictional Templar knight Landry du Lauzon, who found himself reinvigorated following defeat after defeat in the Holy Land by news that the Holy Grail had resurfaced and was right there for the taking, leading to countless sword-swinging scraps along the way.

Mark Hamill was one of Knightfall‘s most notable guest stars as season 2’s Master Talus, but not even the presence of the Star Wars icon has been enough to guarantee it a stay of execution. While Netflix hasn’t done what all of its competitors have been doing and wiped in-house original content from existence, it remains well within its rights to jettison the projects that it didn’t create.

Unfortunately, Knightfall is among them, with What’s on Netflix revealing that both seasons will be removed from the content library on August 14, exactly four years to the day since the second and final run of episodes first landed on the streamer.

If you haven’t seen Knightfall or are in the mood for a rewatch, then you’d better act fast when there are only weeks left until the ancient action-packed drama disappears for good.
