As it stands, the entire horror community continues to be both utterly enthralled and wholly fascinated after Warner Bros. recently unveiled the trailer for The Nun II — an upcoming spin-off sequel belonging to the colossal Conjuring universe. And while the horror flick’s hype is undoubtedly through the roof already, it turns out that another fresh-faced spin-off project is back to remind everyone not only that it exists, but that it’s going to trigger our deepest nightmares.

We’re talking about the upcoming Conjuring television series, of course, which was initially announced back in April. But despite the ever-present hype surrounding The Nun II, the acclaimed horror franchise — which has grossed $2 billion in total — is eager to remind its fanbase that our nightmares are set to be exposed in The Conjuring TV series.

As of now, the upcoming series is set to continue the narrative introduced in the horror films — although it’s yet to be revealed if franchise veterans Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be returning as demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. Even more than that, the ongoing writers’ strike halting a plethora of Hollywood projects might have an effect on the upcoming series, but hopefully, the situation will reach an understanding between parties before the series is ready to begin production.

Either way, a healthy reminder of the supernatural series was certainly needed — especially with this year’s spooky season simply lurking around the corner. But until we know when exactly we’ll be getting the horror series, it’s better to keep our hopes alive and keep looking toward the future.
