In this week’s episode of The Flash, Barry Allen and company paid a visit to Earth-2 in order to rescue Harrison Wells from Gorilla Grodd. Now that that’s done, the psychic gorilla looks set to return to Central City with an army by his side to take over his former home and destroy the Scarlet Speedster.
Clearly unable to take him down alone, the Fastest Man Alive will need all the help he can get, hence why he’s enlisted the likes of Kid-Flash, Jesse Quick, Vibe, and Earth-19 hero Gypsy, who will be bringing some unexpected help along with her in the form of the Accelerated Man.
For more on what to expect from this episode of The Flash, here’s the synopsis for the appropriately titled “Attack on Central City”:
When Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov) and his army of gorillas bring the battle to Earth-1, The Flash (Grant Gustin) and team must find a way to stop them before they destroy Central City. Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) returns to join the fight. Meanwhile, Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) decides she wants to stay with Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) on Earth-1. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Todd Helbing and teleplay by Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Accelerated Man, he’s basically just Earth-19’s version of the Flash, and while the show is already full of speedsters, it will definitely be fun to see one from the home of H.R. Wells now that he’s such a big part of The Flash.
As for the Accelerated Man, his future in the series beyond this outing is unclear, though chances are this will be just a one-off appearance, especially as Jesse is expected to stick around as a hero and love interest to Wally West. Before we get to that, though, seeing Grodd’s attack promises to be pretty exciting and is something that the awesome new poster for The Flash teased yesterday.
