Now that Arrow‘s final handful of episodes to complete season 7 are in full swing, it’s hard not getting overly excited for what’s to come. After all, it was only earlier this week that we were treated to a Birds of Prey-inspired adventure in the form of “Lost Canary” that concluded with Earth-2’s Laurel Lance accepting her Earth-1 counterpart’s Black Canary costume – and let’s also not forget a certain major character from “Elseworlds” being spotted on the set of the finale.
As we move forward, expect for John Diggle to reassume the spotlight in the appropriately titled “Spartan.” Set to grace our screens next week, this will indeed be the episode featuring Ghostbusters‘ Ernie Hudson in a guest role. The name of his character had previously been under wraps though, and now we have a good idea as to why.
You see, as you begin to browse the massive gallery below, you’ll eventually come to find that Hudson’s uniform bears a name tag reading “Stewart.” And seeing as how “Elseworlds” hinted at Diggle’s Earth-90 doppelganger being Green Lantern John Stewart, well, this is sure to get people talking.
How this factors into the grand scheme of things remains to be seen, but it’s not crazy to assume that John Diggle and General Stewart could be related. Furthermore, depending on which continuity you’re adhering to, John Stewart was a Marine. If the stars are aligning as we’d hope, then maybe we’ll see David Ramsey wearing an emerald ring before the series wraps – even if it ends up being Dig’s doppelganger. Hey, I’d settle for that.
