Arrow’s Manu Bennett Teases Bloody Return For Deathstroke With New Image

I think it’s safe to say that I wasn’t the only fan of Arrow who was extremely happy to see Manu Bennett return as Slade Wilson in season 5’s finale. Having capably played the mercenary as both ally and nemesis to Oliver Queen throughout the show’s first two seasons, he’s undoubtedly been one of the more memorable actors to have come through the door.

That being said, it’s doubly exciting to hear that Deathstroke will be a recurring character in season 6, with a two-part arc set to be devoted to him. And with flashbacks reportedly being said to be key to that thread, it stands to reason that we may very well gain some insight into Slade’s family, especially when you factor in that Liam Hall was recently cast as his son.

So, with filming for that two-parter currently being underway, Bennett has opted to give us fans a few glimpses behind the scenes. Not long ago, he posted a more casual looking image on social media, probably there to mark the beginning of principal photography.

Now, this time, he’s teasing a bloody return for the character with one of his latest Instagram posts. In this shot, he looks to be sitting in the makeup chair with blood noticeably surrounding the eye we’re used to seeing obscured by a patch. Whether this was done for a present day scene or a flashback will likely remain a mystery up until the episode in question is aired, but we’re no less intrigued to see what lies ahead for Slade.

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
