Stephen Amell Says The Next Arrowverse Crossover Will Focus On Character

If we've learned anything about Stephen Amell, it seems like he's among the first to hear of cool things about what's in the pipeline for Arrow, after producers and network executives, of course. Don't forget, he's the one who broke the news this past May confirming that Batwoman will debut in the next major crossover, and may have very well seen Ruby Rose in full costume already.

If we’ve learned anything about Stephen Amell, it seems like he’s among the first to hear of cool things about what’s in the pipeline for Arrow, after producers and network executives, of course. Don’t forget, he’s the one who broke the news this past May confirming that Batwoman will debut in the next major crossover, and may have very well seen Ruby Rose in full costume already.

That said, it’s only natural that he know what’s going down in said crossover, and while recently speaking with Digital Spy, Amell teased what’s in store this time around, saying:

“Because we went so big with the crossover last year, you can’t go bigger, so you have to go more about the characters and the story.”

To be honest, that’s pretty much what I’d figured. After the Dominators’ appearance in “Invasion!” and Nazi dopplegangers from a parallel dimension crashing Barry Allen and Iris West’s wedding in “Crisis on Earth-X,” it’d be wise for the producers not to push their luck with what TV specials can achieve, as there are budgetary restrictions to consider.

Still, the next event could top them all if done properly because, well, it’s Batwoman we’re talking about. Funny enough, Supergirl may take some time warming up to her, as Amell had this to add:

“Throughout the seasons, Kara’s had a few funny quips about Batman and her opinions on him – she thinks vigilantes are nuts. So, I’m excited to see her meet Batwoman, and see how they interact.”

Like many of you, I’m curious to see whether Kate Kane hails from Earth-1 or Earth-38, the latter of which the Girl of Steel calls home. But just because her cousin’s teamed up with Batman in their designate universe doesn’t necessarily guarantee that Batwoman comes from the same place.
Arrow returns for its seventh season on Monday, October 15 on The CW.
